Ann, no problem, I'll Sky+ it then transfer it to DVD, that means I've got a back up if I muff the recording first time around ;)

Taplady, well done to your son - if they are willing to let him on the air, even as an unpaid presenter, they must have a lot of belief in him! It is terribly difficult to get into radio, as you say, but he'll make it! Next stop, the world... BTW one of my friends knows Emma Scott off Kerrang, would you like me to have a word? She might be able to sort out work experience or something, contacts are always good.

I've never met another old-styler in the flesh :( anyone fancy a jaunt to Coventry?! :rotfl:
  • Evening all

Welcome back Kazonline :j It's lovely to hear from you :D

This is the first time I have managed to get on here today, I'd love to say it's because I've been busy OS'ing, but DH came home from work at lunchtime and consequently nothing's been done  Well apart from the ironing ;)

Anniestar - I too am looking forward to watching you tonight :j

Dinner tonight is HM Texas Ranch Burgers and chips - yummy :D

    Have a lovely evening (((((hugs)))))
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Meanmarie - so glad meds are actually getting into Luca! Evil cat extends a cautious paw of solidarity.

The Living room is FULL of little bear's toys as he decided to pull everything out to see what was behind it...

Little bear loves those boards where you put a tractor in a tractor shaped dip in the board, but has anyone any suggestions at all about keeping the pieces together? There are strangely shaped bits of pine all over my living room floor.

Also, any ideas about a quick drying upholstery cleaner? My sofa looks like it has just played rugby in the middle of a food fight, but throws are something of a challenge to little bear and evil cat alike. Evil cat is normally too old and grumpy but just occasionally she remembers her youth and the throw is stalked and attacked - and regrettably is normally the victor. I have watched evil cat run away from the stairs.

Hugs and good wishes to all.
Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!

Hubby's cooking tea, ham egg & chips with tinned peas, lol.
    Hugs to Sunnygirl
WB Kazoline, real friends will always be there for you.
Glad to see you posting Moggins & Sybil. Sybil, I find leather is the answer, not to any rude question, but my leather 3 piece is surviving grandchildren using it as a trampoline & wiping chocolate all over it, assorted dogs including a staffie & various visiting cats. When my kids were small I had a fabric sofas, & they all ended up sticky & mucky, mind you that might be because I'm a lazy slob
Looking forward to 'seeing' you tonight Annie.
    Well done to Taplady's son.
PP hope you are feeling ok
I think JackieO is spending time with family & that's why she is MIA.
    Hugs to everyone.

also made some chocolate fairy buns and some mince pies ( left over mince meat)

managed to get in the garden and some tidying and sorted out some space and tubs to grow some veg (complete newbie) hoping to grow some spuds, onions toms, strawberries, peas carrots and beans. I also have a raspberry and redcurrant stems??( sorry what are they? not bushes yet just a single stick lol) I think I may have to frequent the greenfingered board as I have no knowlegde of veg growing.
sunnygirl love and prayers to you and your family, it sounds like your dad is in just the right place

    (((hugs to all that need)))

edited to say: onion tart is DELISH!!

Well it's Friday. Either my OH didn't get the parcel I sent em last Saturday or they are too damn ignorant to say thanks.

Looking forward to seeing Anniestar later.

Finally got to see "Sex And The City" movie only 6 months after it came out on dvd and 8 months after adding it to my Lovefilm list as a top choice.Been a bit weepy today so used the chance to have a few tears at the goings on in the film. Not really a Carrie person but the one I cried at most was Samantha.

Hi Moggins and Sybil - really pleased to *see* you both.
Blimey anniestar I'd better get my skates on and whizz these dogs round the block so I can get comfy for *that* programme. I am very excited.:j
    Tasks today - young dog's bedding on a hot wash with Fai*y - has allergies:rolleyes: .
Tea was a thrown together concoction which included smoked mackeral from Lidl which was hard, tasteless and full of bones. I didn't even give any to the dogs but threw the packet out. I do like their Formil washing liquid though:D and they had 1kg of carrots for 60 something p which was good.
A bit of general tidying and hoovering awaits me after anniestar's performance.
Hope everyone has a good evening

  • Hi all,

Bit of a lurker here- and i'm a boy- but have decided to take the plunge!

I have picked up lots of OS tips- I've always liked cooking so that's not an issue - but I guess what's prompted me to post for the first time is the smell wafting through the house: rock cakes!

I called my mum yesterday and asked for her recipe- her first words were that the recipe is in her special book and we're not supposed to have access to that until after she's left this world! I told her not to be so daft and I am happy to report that today's results take me back about 25 years!

Well, that's all for now...I hope to become a regular poster if you'll have me!

    Jimmi.
