Nice drying day so stripped our bed and got the bedding out on the line, also washed my fluffy dresing gown which is nice and snuggly.

My new glasses are going a bit skew whiff because DDs keep enthusiastically giving me hugs.

Had bratwurst, baked potato and broccoli for tea and made DH a "brunch" of bacon, egg, tomato, mushrooms and fried bread as a treat.

If I miss anniestar in action I 'll try to watch it on i player later. Annie there is nothing wrong with being "cuddly" , I have it down to a fine art, I may have taken it to extremes!!;)

    :hello: Hello to cookie monster

:j Whoo hoo! to see moggins, sybil and Kazonline back.

We are going to visit some elderly relatives about 80 miles away tomorrow so might be late popping in. Our elderly auntie who has Altzheimers has now been moved to a nice place in the town where she was born and has lived nearly all her life. Another auntie has her 88th birthday on Monday so got birthday cards and will get some nice flowers tomorrow.

DD(20 on Friday next) will be coming home next weekend from uni :j so being involved in helping her sisters choose something special for her.

Hugs to everybody and see you later.

Pleased to report that the onion quiche was quite nice. DS requested it and he enjoyed it. DH moaned because there wasn't additional carbohydrate. We have this ongoing thing. I tend not to serve addititional carbs with things that have pastry, as I feel it's enough of a carb and has all that fat in it!

I found the quiche a bit on the sweet side, but texture etc was nice.

made a treacle tart with the rest of the pastry.

Made a big pan of chilli

Made a big pan of bol

Mad a big pan of tomato sauce

Made merguez burgers for the freezer.

    Still got some mince left.

    Hello everyone! :hello:

I have only just got back from a couple of days with my parents, so I've only briefly read the thread. Apologies :embarassed:

I was "Driving Miss Daisy" yesterday. My mum had to go to the hospital for some more pre-chemo tests, so I was the driver. She also had to go to the Breast unit (at the hospital) and I've never been into anywhere like it. It's so unlike any other part of the hospital - really comfortable, bright and mostly funded through donations.

I made the most of being with my parents. I popped into their local town to go to the bank. Whilst I was there, I popped into two of my favourite shops: B&M Bargains and Wilkos. Ok, so not the highest of quality shops, but full of great bargains - bleach for 39p a bottle .

My mum gave me some "Howgill chops" (like Barnsley chops, but from Cumbria :D), so they're in the freezer for the time being. Oh and some of the Old Dowerhouse Chutney that she made last autumn with apples from their garden. However, tonight it's beans on toast for DH and I - which will be washed down by a gin and tonic.

Have a good evening everyone. I'm still drooling over Ronan Keating on The One Show! :D :j :j
