Don't want to be a drama queen, but not much OS to post - a bit odd here.

Reverbe - is your regular postie on leave? My regular postie is lovely and reliable, but his cover is dreadful!

No apparently we have a new one that has had trouble gaining access as we have an entry key and buzzer system here but that should not be a problem as I went in person to the delivery office and volunteered to let them ring my entry phone every day and I will come down and let them in.There is also a housebound person on the bottom floor that could do the same. - well with the buzzer system that is(not sure if they are old or disabled but I Know they get nurses and meals on wheels etc)There is no excuse accesswise for not delivering every day.

  • If during a spin cycle your new bottle of CONCENTRATED stardrops falls off the side and spills and it is a while before you find the puddle and you do that by skidding on it...

It is worse than washing up liquid to get up - either half a forest of paper towels (which I couldn't bear) or some cloths that ended up cleaner at the start than the beginning. I have put them separate so that when there is a wash of cleaning cloths I don't put any other detergent in. Also I have a clean patch on my kitchen floor.

And I have clean footprints all the way up the kitchen steps.

    I thought I would share.

I will try and get to the TV tonight, little bear permitting!

I've been there sort of! Dropped an almost full bottle of olive oil which turned into a 3' square oil slick and had me cornered in the kitchen. For next time, I have purchased a bag of cat litter - it will absorb anything!

Looking forward to the programme tonight Annie!!!
Just a flying visit as I'm trying to get the house in order for the weekend.

I have just made a pea and ham soup and some rolls for dinner and will follow that with fresh fruit and ice cream

Washing machine is on it's third load today so I must catch up with the ironing again tommorrow.

Have just drained my coffee cup so will get back to it. Bathroom is next on the agenda.

    Sybil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're back!

If Evil Cat has kitty litter that is very good for cleaning up spilt stardrops. Do make sure it isn't slippy once it dries, if it is use a little washing up liquid to clean it over again.

EDITED: Ooops Kathy's well ahead of me there!

My friend's midwife advised on a knotted terry nappy as a comforter, right from the start, so that way it can always be replaced if it needs washing, were lost, or whatever. Not much help to learn that tip now, but...

    Afternoon all.

Been playing catch-up on the thread, as I logged off early yesterday because I felt unwell._pale_

As Cookie Monster asked about a "typical" day, I thought I'd bore you all with mine. It does vary, but this is TODAY, and Mr LW is w*rking from home today.:o

Mr LW helps me out of bed, into and out of the bath, and helps me to dress, then he starts his "early morning checks" (he's in I.T and is logged on to w*rk from home today)
Half-an-hour rest to catch my breath, then take my meds, check he's taken his.
Empty WM (which has been on overnight), put large quantity of hankies out to dry, put bathroom mats in WM for rinse through as they're thick with talcum powder.
    Swish'n'swipe bathroom.
Start preparing Shepherd Spy for lunch. This is interspersed with several 5-min sit downs if I start to feel rough.
Mr LW peels the spuds for the topping, and lunch is in its baking tin, ready for the oven.
Log onto Internet, check over Lupus support site I'm a moderator on.
Check email, respond as needed, including a couple of surveys, and find I have enough points to order a £5 Amazon voucher.:j
Put bathroom mats outside to dry.
Input large quantity of "National Beer Scoring Scheme" scores I've been handed to Excel database that I maintain for local branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).
Check hankies - as they're dry enough to iron, fetch them in, Mr LW sets up ironing board, iron hankies and press material for HM cushion covers while I have iron on; also put lunch in to cook (there's enough for 2 days, so we'll have the rest tomorrow).
Lunch. Mr LW washes up afterwards:A and as he has some time before he has to recommence w*rk, we play a PlayStation2 game together for half an hour. (His lunch break is 13:00-14:00)
    Swish'n'swipe kitchen.
Log onto MSE, check and deal with further email as it arrives. Feel guilty that I ought to be getting on with the cushion covers, not mucking about on here.
Check weekend schedule (on my PDA) to ensure we can cope with the tasks we need to do; flag the ones I'll need Mr LW's help with.
15:30 as he's on Early shift, Mr LW finishes w*rk, so fetch bathroom mats in, and go into town to return faulty pasta maker to John Lewis and go to Italian market which is in Central MK for 4 days. Also need to visit Superdrug, plus anything else Mr LW wants to do while we're in town; I'm in his hands, as I need him to push me wheelchair.
After that - don't know. Either come home and play PC or PlayStation2 game, or if I still have a little energy, Mr LW might suggest we pop down the Robin Hood for a wee drop of their excellent cider.

Anyway, there you go - a day in the life of the Wolf. Hope I haven't bored you too much.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    sybil and Moggins - glad you're back!:j

DS1 has had his interview - no full time job going apparently but they have put him down as a bank presenter for if anyone is ill etc and they have given him a Saturday lunchtime show without pay to get some experience so he is really pleased. :T At least it is a foot in the door, radio is a very competetive field to get into. Perhaps he'll be the next JK as it is the same station he started at and he is from our town.
    Do what you love :happyhear
