Well done on your loss binidboo
Skitty - sorry don't know I stick to wii fit & aerobic class (I got wii fit before xmas but have only just started using it so don't know how good it is if you see what I mean)
Victory -OMG!! for a quater!
Really annoyed at myself, I do great with the exercise but then food is a whole other issue, I have just eaten 6 slices of fruit toast! arrgghhh why do I do it! now feel so down and fed up, just wish I could break the vicious circleFollowing :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -

Fair enough. Would you mind keeping me in the loop as to how you find the Wii Fit in terms of an actual practical excersise routine?Really annoyed at myself, I do great with the exercise but then food is a whole other issue, I have just eaten 6 slices of fruit toast! arrgghhh why do I do it! now feel so down and fed up, just wish I could break the vicious circle
I have much the same problem. I'm happy to excersise and then sit down with a bag of crisps. What I've found helps is two things. 1. Smaller portions. Rather than buy a pack of snicker bars (my chocolate indulgence of choice) I bought a pack of the mini-snickers. I eat one of those instead when I'm feeling like junkfood and it satisfies the craving for a fraction of the cost.
Secondly, no amount of depression ever helped make someone feel happy. If you slipped, you slipped, don't worry about it. We all do, we're all only human after all. Try and avoid doing it next time, but don't beat yourself up over it.Proud to have dealt with my debts!

Hi Skitty - I'd suggest a mixture is best, to give you as much of an all-round workout as possible. As well as varying the machines, you could vary the inclines, tensions & speed too, and the order in which you do them. You could split your workout between several different machines in one session, or do longer workouts on 1-2 machines then do something different again the next time?
You may find jogging gets your heart rate up more efficiently than the other machines, but each different form of exercise - machines or otherwise - has it's own other benefits
As for wii fit, I dropped it from my exercise routine last October after logging some 50+ hours. Once I'd invested in a heart rate monitor I found nothing in the 'aerobic' section got my heart rate up enough to be considered as even light exercise - but this will vary depending on your current level of fitness. For someone starting out, or who has modest exercise targets and enjoys the 'game' type approach, it may be perfect.0 -

SKIT I personally think the wii fit is fantastic, once the initial outlay is overcome (£70!) then it has many advantages, like being able to the aerobics whenever, indoors, no one is watching, wear whatever, do however much you like per day, I always do the aerobics side first and the fun bit afterwards and compete against myself for higher steps in the 30 min steps or the hula hoops etc it is great fun and keeps you off the sofa and each time I do it I make sure that I get on the board and do it over and over again until I do, alongside walking and the pedometre doing the 10,000 steps a day it makes you get up, complete the tasks and have fun at the same time.

I am a recovering binge eater if there is ever such a thing:rolleyes: skit is right about the portion sizes, I tried having everything but smaller but it does not always work so I changed everything if it was white it went to brown, if it had sugar in it it went to no added sugar,or sugar free, if it was high in cals, sugars, salts etc it went WW version of it or healthy eating, I can't believe it is not butter went to flora extra light, full cheese to extra light philadelphia cheese, butter biscuits to plain light biscuits, swapped belly pork for salmon swordfish, lean chicken, lean turkey and so on, it saves masses of cals that you may not even realise, it is all healthy and so long as there is a strong eye on the portion sizes then it adds up to lbs off:D0 -
Had a sneaky mid week weigh this morning and only 1lb gone in 4 days, arghh! I've sat and watched my friends scoff Mcdonalds etc, not fair!!!!! So i had a subway for lunch did check out the cals and had the lowest one but it didn't full me up so it was naughty really, treat day is Saturday.
Danced around the house like a maniac to music when i got home and am now shattered so hopefully ii have burnt the subway off.

Skit, i love the davina dvd too but if you prefer a male instructor check out Tae Bo, i use that and the davina dvd so i don't get bored. I use Tae Bo Cardio from 2004 its a great workout. Lots of people on here have a good weight loss using the Wii Fit, i'm sure some of them will be on soon.
Kay, don't worry about the 1lb loss in 4 days, i've only lost 7lbs since new year :rotfl: they do say the slower the better. I've toned up lots though so our theory on here is that the fat is now muscle so weighs more, well i'm sticking with that one anywayCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0 -
Well my diet has gone out the window today - why oh why do i go out for lunch!! We ended up going to Pizza hut cause it was the only place that seemed to have space for 3 buggies and had 3 highchairs.
What did I have - the buffet of course (as did everyone in my humble defence!) I thought I was doing really well - first trip I had one slice of pizza (the thin one not the greasy one) and loads of salad oh and a garlic bread stick. Second trip the same but also had croutons on the salad and then I made another trip for the same thing! Thats 3 slices of pizza and 3 dough sticks for lunch!!

She is right you know. I have only lost 6 lbs since the New Year. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey!!
I have odd slip days, and then try harder the following day, dont beat yourself up about it. I find it really hard to stick to any exercise plan. I dont own a Wii, and have only been to slasacise once. But I do walk. Instead of focussing on the weight alone, have you measured yourself? Measure the obvious bits and then upper arms, thighs and calf and do it again in a month. You may be pleasantly surprised.Jane 21120 -
Just done my Tae Bo Cardio Workout, so thats it for another day :j I agree with jane about measuring yourself, i would be upset if i focussed on weight alone, as although i've only lost 7lb, i've lost 4" off my waist, my jeans are feeling alot looser these days :rotfl: Also never do a sneaky mid week weigh in it spoils the surpriseCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0
