BB you twisted my arm;) Really-thank you for your gentle nudge this morning. I'm sorry I dissappeared. There has been alot going on suddenly between being ill and starting a business, and like BB says, when the board gets busy I feel bad for missing anyone if I do post. And since the business is cake decorating-Im weary of posting about it here but it seems to be the only thing I have to talk about. DOes that make sense at all?
At any rate, I need to get my weight in check for all the same reasons I gave the last time I came here-so I really hope that I can keep up this time:)0 -
jane i read that as slasha-cise. a workout class for would be serial killers!
i went off-piste too yesterday, there must defintely have been something in the air.
The plan was
weetabix with 1spoon maple syrup, milk, oj
cn cornflakes, milk, apple
benchmarking - healthy cup soups, pot snacks
2 veggeburgers and savoury rice, tom juice
But I had
weetabix with 1spoon maple syrup, milk, oj
cn cornflakes, milk, apple
benchmarking - healthy cup soups, pot snacks, custard, delights
big plate of scampi kievs and chips with mayo
granola
I have told myself that I can't have a day off exercise this week to try and counter it, and it's back to plan today
weetabix with 1spoon maple syrup, milk, oj
cn cornflakes, milk, apple
sausage and mash with bovril gravy, glass tom juice
On the subject ofh te wii fit I found it was great, really got me into the habit of exercising regularly and it is a lot of fun to do. After a few months I found I was ready to trade up and got an exercise dvd - but I never would have got to that stage without hte wii fit. And OH still plays mario kart every couple of days and every once in a while we get friends round to get drunk and play rabbids so i'm pleased i got it. It was my new job treat back in november.0 -

Morning all.
Glad you're having a good week off BB, and thank you for your kind words. I feel more positive today (but it is early, I grant you)! The sun is shining, and that definitely puts a great slant of the day for me.
Polkadot, good to hear from you again, and I'd actually love to hear about your new cake decorating business. I follow a site on facebook called 'Cake Wrecks', have you seen their website? It is quite hillarious, and as an amateur cake decorator, I can't understand how these wrecks get put on display, or sold!
Vix, I'm with you on the knowing where people are regionally from just by looking at them. I think my work in HR gave me that radar, but I also have an innate 'sense' about someone's credibility too. I know in an instant is someone is nice/not nice as a person. My OH is the only other person I've met who also has it.
Anyhoo, I've had a banana, and am about to get on the Wii Fit for the first time in 2 weeks! yoinks! I'm gonna brace myself for the telling off I'm about to get from my trainer on there. All this talk of the gym has got me hankering after going again, but pennies won't allow it at the mo. I'd love to get out on my bike today, but last night was another cough-wheeze-hack-cough-choke-wheeze-cough-snore-cough-wheeze-get up for wee-cough-it's still silly O'clock-cough kind of night! Frankly, I don't think my lungs could cope with a bike ride.
Back later. Have a wonderful day everyone, and I hope the sun is shining on you there. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Morning everyone. OH had a kebab last night and I had my favourite roasted vegetable cous cous. I think it is becoming a bit of an obsession but it is sooooooo nice and filling and yet light on the calories! We ate dinner early so I was on a bit of a snack attack and had some grapes and 100 cals worth of popcorn (which is actually a huge amount) so despite not resisting snacking I think I made good choices.Dinner tonight will be chicken covered/marinated in red thai curry paste accompanied with lots of lovely sweet peppers and cucumber. OH will stuff it all in pitta breads but I will have it just on a plate. YUM!
I havent got any work done the last couple of days because my head has been all over the place and for months I have only had one day off from working at a time and its got too much, so I have taken a few days completely off to refresh myself. Think I will cut the grass and finish sorting the bedrooms today and health allowing will also do some cleaning. Clear environment, clear mind etc! Have a good day all.0 -
Thanks for the advice on the Wii fit. I'll definitely look into protein shakes for post-excersise time.
I also hit a milestone (well, it was for me at least) yesterday. I like jogging but my knee and ankle haven't really allowed me to do it for extended periods, but I've been trying to slowly increase the distance over the course of weeks and months and I finally hit twenty minutes worth of solid running yesterday.
I mean I can hit an hour on the elliptical without serious trouble and similar times on the other machines that don't require heavy effort from my left knee, but this is the first time I've managed to hit 20 minutes continuous running on the treadmill. Made me happyProud to have dealt with my debts!

This is a really excellent point KPC, it can pave the way for other things - and I forgot to mention that the wii fit was also excellent for me when I was recovering from my operation and not allowed to do other exercise. It was then easy to phase out the wii fit time and get back to my other stuff, because I hadn't got out of the habit of making time for exercise.
Skitty well done on the 20 continuous minutes! I know how good those running milestones feel - congratulations!

oooh, sary, i'm addicted to cakewrecks too!
had a panciked headless chicken morning at work so had a broccoli croissant for lunch. The broccoli bit cancels out the croissant doesn't it?0 -

Hi DMV, I'm new, do you make the cousous yourself or do u buy a packet one? I used to eat Ainsley Harriots Roasted Veg Couscous, but i would have it with roast vegetables as well. I would roast some tomatoes, peppers, red onions and mushrooms in the oven with olive oil and garlic and then serve it with the couscous and rocket. I kinda copied off a version tesco sell in the deli part, but it is soooo yummy and filling, you're right! Think I might start making it again
My day yesterday was bad...not so much in the sense that I was bad with food, I don't know, I just think I was having a "bad" day. I felt ugly and unattractive and fat...I needed to find some confidence! So I did my davina dvd with andy and felt so much better afterwards. I needed a good old shake I think. Watching what you eat all of the time and exercising gets me down sometimes. But then I have spurts when I feel Brilliant..can anyone explain this? I seem to go up and down like a yo-yo, I have very good happy days and then bad down days when I reach for the biscuits.
Hope I can stay motivated and keep my spirits up by checking in here daily with you lot, you're a very friendly bunch!
