DMV I've noticed that my bingo wings have got a little better with the press ups I've started doing (the ones on your knees not the proper ones yet) though I'm not sure there is a lot you can do about them.

Polka I think with exercise especially in the beginning it is best to have rest days and listen to your body. I know the various beginneres running training programs I have seen say that you should have a days rest in between.

gained 0.2kg this week which isactually a result given the bad eating last week. Have to say I've stuck to my eating plan better for only a couple of days and I feel better - less tired, less headachey, and definitely less bloated.

    Yesterdays food plan was:
    choc special k, milk, oj
    crunchy nut, milk, apple
    cup soup
basmati chicken rice, vegeburgers, veg and tom juice

    and ended up
    choc special k, milk, oj
    crunchy nut, milk, apple
    rolo cookie, mini muffin
basmati chicken rice, vegeburgers, sweetcorn, tablespoon salad cream, apple and beetroot juice

slightly off piste but i spent all afternoon researching restaurant menus looking for menu items for my boss to sell so the cookie and muffin were collateral damage

    todays plan:
    cocopops, mlk, oj
    ricicles, milk, apple
    cup soup
fishcake, couscous and peas, tom juice

victory, I can't believe your neighbours let the kids wander in and out of other peoples gardens. rose bushes are definitely the way forward. I saved for ages to get some fencing up in my garden so that we could have some privacy. Also put a row of conifers in at the bottom so that the family at the back can no longer watch us in thegarden out of hte bedroom window which was offputting to say the least.

Hi everyone. Hope everyone had a good week. Just a quick message before the electric has to be turned off due to the builders.

2.2 lds loss. Although I am happy about the loss I know it is only because I have been ill, and  at the thought of when I am well it will just creep back on again.

polkadot: I meant I was joining this forums weight lose club...but I would not put it past what I said not making any sense due to me being so tired and out of it of late.

DMV I have always had a problem with bingo wings! So I did a little research and found that the best two exercises are using a chair and putting ur hands on the edge of the chair and lowering yourself, iyswim, and holding a light weight about 1.5kg above your head and keeping your arm straight with elbow pointing upwards and dipping the arm toward the back iyswim...lol maybe this will help..stolen from a website :D
Exercise 1 Hair Dips Sit on the edge of your bed or a sturdy chair with your palms planted on each side of your hips with your fingers hanging over the edge. Walk your feet out a little so that your hips are off the chair. Your bum should just clear the edge as you use your arms to lower yourself down.
Exercise 2 Tricep extension – Stand tall with the spine nice and long, the tummy tight and the knees soft. With a weight in one hand, take the arm up to the side of the head and hold it in position with the other arm. Allow your arm to bend, under control, so that you lower the weight down behind the head and in between the shoulder blades. Extend back up to the start position. The upper part of the arm next to your head should be vertical throughout. Again try around 15 repetitions to fatigue on both arms

Using lighter weights and doing more repititions trims the fat, and then you can move onto a heavier weight to add more definition if you want to.

We have just bought a weights bench on the easter weekend, so I will be doing some weights on that, obviously light weights! And I will let you know how the different exercises I do on that affect the bingo wings!!

    Hope this helps

Yes!! I'm going to do this --- but I'm not clear how much hair I'll have to dip. it sound a much easier route than all those triceps dips. :p They make my arms ache.

I wanted to ask about my exercise. Im feeling quite sore today and I only did 30 minutes on the wii today. In dont want to push myself too hard but I do want to do enough...so to work it up...is it okay to do this session every other day at first? I also do a fair bit of walking so it does add up.

Polkadot I would say always assess how you are feeling first, before you embark on any exercise. If you feel sore/tired you may be a bit out of sorts, or it could be a sign that you've not yet recovered from previous exercise. In both cases it's a good idea to wait a bit longer before your next session.

Build up gradually, and you should find your recovery times improve. It's not only how much exercise you can do, but also how much you can recover from.

If you want to exercise on back-to-back days, then a good rule is to alternate hard days with easier ones, and don't keep doing the same workout day in, day out :) Hope this helps :)

ANDYSLINZ - thanks for those two exercises. I have done both in the past, and still do the tricep one but without weights on the wii. I have one weight which you can make between 2 and 10kgs so will get that out (i thought it was a set when i bought it!) I accept Im never going to have fantastic arms and thats fine, but I can see them getting worse as I lose more weight so want to "rein them in" a bit now so to speak!

I would like to report a 1/2 lb loss please raph. I am very happy with that seeing as I spent the 1st half of the week praying I wouldn't gain!

What a lovely day it is today, have finished uni for the day and had a lovely walk with the dog in the sunshine. Now need to get some lunch and may have, shock horror, a sandwich! I dont really eat bread now, but ended up having a tuna and cucumber sandwich at uni on monday, and now fancy another, so will indulge myself! No not in chocolate or takeaways...a tuna sandwich is a treat lol. Think I will get the stuff out to make my gorgeous salmon, plaice, king prawn and normal prawn and a few peas fish pie.....mmmmmmmmmmmmm! So yummy. Oh and i think i said i was gonna have a milkyway the other day, forgot to say i resisted. It was late and I knew i wanted it to treat myself for the day. Whilst I will always use food as a treat/reward, I need to not ALWAYS use it as a reward.

    Right lunch, then uni work!
