Blimey! I didn't realise I'd reached the target already - wow! That's a nice surprise.

*whispers* I've found marion... she's on a different thread for SW, and seems quite happy there, so I think we should leave her to it! I do miss her daily menu posts I must admit, but I'm sure she'll still be getting lots of lovely peeps supporting here there too.

Katara - I think you'll need to sit down and work out how you can fit your food choices into a SW plan. It does look rather limiting judging by your list of foods. It may be that you aren't able to fit that into a plan like SW or WW, but perhaps a low carb, or low calorie plan will suit you? You can only try to see what happens, but if you do 2lb a week, that's over half a stone a month remember!

Moonflower - welcome! You'll find lots of support here. Are you following a particular plan?
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

What a day! Kids...everywhere! Between DS and LO downstairs and then our friend arrived with her LO. We had a lovely day but I don’t think I got to sit down at all. Not helped by the fact that I have the worst tummy cramps and sore boobs. My temp started coming back up yesterday and then more today-but I still feel premenstrual. Didn’t help the eating-didn’t have breakfast-had home made veg soup for lunch and pork and cous cous for supper...but I think I had about 6 cranberry biscuits. I was just eating them because they were there after the first one-they taste very rich (despite being only about 50 cals (that makes it 300 cals of them I ate) and I really did feel ill. Also been very tense as it’s been election day back home. As expected I couldn’t get my vote in (ex-pats had to vote on the 15th of April but when I got there my registration had not been captured despite the fact that I posted it to home affairs in February). This seemed to be the case for a number of others who turned up to cast votes in London. Surprise surprise I checked the roll today and what do you know? Registration captured and reflected by no vote! So now I look like another wasted vote as I expected. DF says he doesn’t understand why I bothered-but we both still have family there (his sister is due a baby next week) so of course the state of the country is important. And then by 9am this morning I had read of three iec officials being fired and arrested for being in possession of marked ballot papers. I spoke to dad this morning and he says the lodge has been locked down since Monday night because of locals intimidating staff-and harassing guests saying they are not wanted...well done to maintain jobs and sort out the economy!
Friend who was here today is wanting to go to a St George’s day function tomorrow night (I think that’s what it was) but she and the boyfriend couldn’t agree on who should stay and who should go...so I offered and am having her LO to spend the night tomorrow....and then DF arrived home and said he’ll be late because they have a team meeting tomorrow. Apparently the start of redundancy hit his company today. It was consultants and marketers that were affected and they were saying the technicians were fine-but he didn’t look convinced and I’m worried.
I got an order for a cake for the end of May, so thats two in two weeks paying (the other is 4 June) and it makes it 4 cakes Im doing in total (DS birthday on 06/06 (yes 06) and one for the toddle waddle for the meningitis foundation. If I set up one of those “donate please” websites, would you ladies mind sponsoring DS 20p or so? We are doing it on the 13th of June and are using one of our local parks. The p[lan is to have the kids walk the track for 30 minutes or so and then have a big picnic. I’m really looking forward to it because it will be our first “organised event” if that makes sense? It’s different from a birthday party or a playgroup.
Sary I am using slimfast, it’s 225-260 cals (depending on which one I use) per 250ml milk. It is fIlling. But I’ve been doing it because up until I decided to lose weight I was only eating one meal a day (in the evening) so my aim was to get my metabolism working and I’m guessing it’s working, because I’m on breakfast and lunch now (I’m actually hungry at lunch time now). Your question to Victory did get me thinking too. I’m heading back to 13 stone now and my goal is around 10 stone-so I agree...it’s a longhaul goal but its not impossible.
Missy Thanks for the advice re exercise-and the spreadsheet. I’m guessing it’ll be trial and error for a bit whilst I figure it out-but it looks straightforward enough...I forgot to mention before-I got out the shower yesterday morning and DF literally dived at my legs: “OMG” he says “your thighs are wobbling”. I nearly had a heart attack and then he says “no hang on-stand still” and he’s slapping my thighs all over the place...turns out it’s not fat-it’s loose skin!:j
DMV I did not see the programme, but the points you raise are the same that grate me...but you know why.
Hannah Well done on your fab result...and your story about the rain made me laugh. DS LOVES walking home from the park in the pouring rain-runs into every lightpost because he has his head up and tongue out. I think if we had a car he’d hate it if I tried to put him into it out of the rain-oh how my life has changed.

POLKADOT - yes I know why those things annoy you, and justified they are too. If you were to set up a donate website I would happily sponsor your son. I think those websites are great, and tomorrow I need to sponsor a friend doing the race for life and a lady on the DFW threads called hypno (im sure some of you know of her) who is running the marathon! Must remember to do them tomorrow!

I'm loving the brilliant weather, it doesnt make staying in and doing work appealing though! All I'm hearing is dozens of people at different uni's locked away working trying to get all their essays finished over the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the sun will stick around longer than that as it would be a cruel twist of fate if it decided to chuck it down on hand in day! I've randomly had an urge for philadelphia toasted bagels like my sister used to have alllll the time! Haven't had one for years and can't even remember if I liked them all that much but nostalgia has kicked in.

Right I'm off to bed and then up for a (hopefully) lovely walk in the sunshine and a day of productive uni work. I've realised I'm rambling on about the same boring uni work routine, feel free to tell me to shut up!

Victory, I was thinking today about your great weight loss, and wondered how you set yourself your target weight? Did you use an ideal BMI/weight chart, or choose a dress size to aim for? I'm at a weight where one of my very good friends would happily settle to stay, although it is still overweight for my height, but I want to get into at least another dress size smaller, which I know will be at least another stone and a half, if not 2 stone away - it seems to take more when you're shorter. She asked me last week what my plan was from here, as I'm approaching my initial 2 stone target loss, and I said about another 2 stone, and she raised her eyebrow, and intimated that it would be too much to aim for. I had always imagined I was on a longer road of weightloss anyway, and the 2 stone target I set to begin with was to get me back into old clothes, and put me halfway to a healthier weight. Anyway, I'd be interested to know your thoughts.

When I started I knew I was over weight but I would have thought maybe 2 stone over weight, it wasn't so much a case of lying to myself of to how big I actually was but ignorance as to how much I had put on on how much for a healthy BMI I needed to loose. I went from week to week, the 1st week I lost nothing and can still feel the devastation as I was starving, determined, cut out everything , the next week I lost 4lb and every 2 week or so I would loose 1/2 stone so that kept me going, if only I keep this up for a few more days I will loose 2lb etc, I sometimes kept it going day by day, just get past this day and tomorrow will be better etc. There was never a dress size in mind, I was size 18/20 and finding it harder and harder to shop and find anything that was remotely nice and that I would want to wear so had less and less to go out in, I just wanted that to stop and to have options more than Evans or the internet....
Car boot sale clothes were always too small so I had so little...Every 10lb is a one dress size so that also kept me going.
I never really had a plan, apart from being diabetic and all the docs saying that the weight around the middle is potential heart attack, stroke, very bad for your health and they moaned at me all the time to get rid of it, the kids I have mean more to me than eating and a fat tum so the thought of being in danger through my own greediness motivated me more, the more that came off the more I went into boot camp and kept it going. Once I was on the weight loss roller coaster I did not want to get off, I figured this was my time to show the docs I could do it and I did.
Now they just moan at me about smoking:rotfl::rotfl:
BMI, height to weight ratio(which is clearly stated in the WW books) all that did not mean as much to me at the beginning, I just kept going to loose and to feel better, huffing and puffing after the kids, always on the settee, trying to hide from exercise, not wanting to going out, inter acting with the family or taking a few mins to get up the stars is not a good look:rolleyes:
I would never want to look like VB or the skeleton models that parade their diets but I always wanted to look differently:D

I know I am being childish but....x-raph please can I go back on the chart? If I had been on the chart htis week I would have lost 2.4kg and been SOTW, I know I am a maintainer and have no rights but I feel side lined (my own personal choice) can't cope without seeing me on the chart, scared it will all be wasted and will give up:rolleyes: sorry for the inconvenience

Hi Everyone, just read through all the posts and am impressed by the sheer number of them!
I had a great time with my sister and her husband (I managed to escape from the Remoska ;)) to the extent that I have gained 8 lbs!:eek::eek:

I have however been as good as gold since Mondays weigh in and hopefully we will have a good loss next week. I have changed my subscription on the forum to daily updates rather than instant email since I am spending far too much time sitting on my backside with my computer than getting out and about and moving said backside:o.

So I will be here but any replies will be later than normal!
Have a good weekend everyone, am still happy to help with and SW queries - when I get back from walking;) I got one of those pedometer thingies and only did 1007 steps - which is what prompted me to move about more - how I will manage 10,000 I don't know!!:p

    Love
