Flying visit from me at the mo...places to be, things to do, people to meet...
Buttonmoon - tiredness is THE major symtom of aneamia so I am sure this is the root casue of it. Are you on iron tabs from the doc?
And yes, I get tired of the meals we have every so often, so I normally then make a humungous effort and search out some new recipes to try. I tend to start of with a week list of evening meals than rolls along quite happily, and then gradually I find I am cooking the same thing every other night again, and then I know I need a change.

    STS for me please raph
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

HANNAH - well done you! Thats such a great feeling, and your lowest adult weight! Im at my lowest weight now since I was 16 (granted thats only havent 4 years lol but still). Your sig is counting down till you get to 12 stone, maybe you could lower that to working towards 12 and a half stone, and celebrate getting under the half stone barrier? Thats what I'm doing (and got under it this week woo) so it doesnt feel like such a long time and big amount till you reach tour next mini goal?

Who was it that asked about the hospital programme on obesity last night? I watched it and (I know this sounds bad/mean) but found it funny that the woman who had the band fitted was in pain and could only eat soup, and had only lost the same amount as the other 2 women who had been refused the operation so were doing it with diet and exercise. I dont see how she was seen eating salad and fish saying she couldnt lose weight but then the weeks before her op when she was supposed to be on a detox diet so there was no fat in her liver to make the op less dangerous she was eating takeaways! Also the two that (did really well) and lost it the hard and healthy way said that diet and exercise didnt work for them, then once refused the op thats exactly how they lost weight?!

It really annoys me that people, especially young people (yes im having a go at my generation lol) see surgery as the answer and easy way out. Personally I dont think at that age you can have PROPERLY tried diets and exercise properly if you are still overweight, and much more likely that they half heartedly tried and gave up because it was hard. Well life is hard, but as we all know on here we were happy enough to eat the bad stuff and get overweight, so its down to us to lose it. Why should the NHS spend 6 grand on a teenager (who is living on disability benefits because of her weight) for her to go out and eat a takeaway days before her op? Grrrrrrrr!

:D Thanks Beanie, granny & dmv I think you are right I am going to change my siggy to my next mini milestone of 12 stone 9lb as that will be 4 stone loss thanks for the suggestion.

We went to the park to feed the ducks and as we drove there the closer we got the darker the sky got, so we got there parked up, Daniel in pushchair, Thomas getting out of the car and then..... the heavens opened :mad::mad: so dashed back into the car, drove home and now sat in the garden, still in sunshine here on the laptop! hmmmm ;)

Hannah - I'm in your sig! Awww thank you Im honoured (and I wont be offended when you take it out!) 4 stone really is a great achievement - and definitely one that will deserve to be celebrated! My next door neighbour has just given me a box of my fave chocolates to say thanks for looking after their dog when they went away. Very nice of her and very appreciated. However, I have just worked them out at 64cals a chocolate (22 in a box!) and I could easily eat them in one sitting! Even if I show some restraint, once opened they will be gone in under a week. So now I'm thinking do I keep and enjoy them, or do I give them away? I have someone I could (and would like to) give a thank you gift to next weekend, so am thinking I should do that? I just love them so much tho! Maybe I should give them away, and buy my fave choloate bar (not had it in months) as a compromise as will be enjoyed and obviously not as many calories as that box of chocs?! TEMPTATION!

if it was me I would give them away as a gift as it is a-good for the diet and b-save you buying another gift for next week anyway! its win win! (in reality though if someone had given them to me I would eat the lot in one sitting without sharing :o) I think your comprimise idea is a great one! ENJOY!

    Evening gang,

Put me down for a 1.5lb loss this week please Raph, ta very muchly!

Still about half a pound or so from breaking that darned stone barrier. Well done on breaking through your's Hannah!

Hasn't it been a lovely day today, and where have I been, indoors! Bah! I'm not even going to go into details of what I've been doing, but suffice to say I am absolutely cream crackered, and lost the will to live at about 11am when the leg broke off a bureau I was moving! The house here is looking more and more untidy too! argh! I know it won't be forever that it's like that, but when you're working hard all day, and it doesn't seem to get any better it feels demoralising. My BF is fine about it all, and just lets me get on with it. This will make you laugh though, I have another bureau, from my house, that was stored in the big shed, so I thought I'd move it on my own into the house to replace the one I'd broken. It was a bit heavy to move though, and it was really hard going doing it, so I put it on top of a skateboard at one end, and wheeled it down the garden path. If any of our neighbours saw me, they'd have thought I was a loon!

So, I've been on the go from 9am until about half an hour ago, and have just sat down for the first time. If that hasn't burned off some calories today I don't know what will have.

I'll be packing more up again tomorrow from mine, but after that I'm going to pop in to see a friend for a cuppa and a bit of relaxation with her.

    Food today has been good:
    B - porridge
    L - banana 2 x wholemeal bread, snack a jacks
D - chicken breast, small jacket potato, mixed veg

Victory, I was thinking today about your great weight loss, and wondered how you set yourself your target weight? Did you use an ideal BMI/weight chart, or choose a dress size to aim for? I'm at a weight where one of my very good friends would happily settle to stay, although it is still overweight for my height, but I want to get into at least another dress size smaller, which I know will be at least another stone and a half, if not 2 stone away - it seems to take more when you're shorter. She asked me last week what my plan was from here, as I'm approaching my initial 2 stone target loss, and I said about another 2 stone, and she raised her eyebrow, and intimated that it would be too much to aim for. I had always imagined I was on a longer road of weightloss anyway, and the 2 stone target I set to begin with was to get me back into old clothes, and put me halfway to a healthier weight. Anyway, I'd be interested to know your thoughts.

Buttons - how are you feeling today?

Katara - we use a saying here that goes 'a loss, is a loss'. If you are feeling genuinely hungry, then I would suggest that you spread your daily food allowance over the day, say with a snack between meals. Try to find something really low cal/points but filling. Sugar free jelly is a winner for lots of us. Some weeks the weight just flies off, others it is a begger to shift. Missy always says that if she feels she's been undereating, those are the weeks she sees a gain! Make sure your having all your food allowance each day, so that you don't put your body into starvation mode, in which case it'll be hanging onto every calorie you put into it. Try to look at the bigger picture, if you can. Set yourself achievable, short term targets. My loss has been stilted, 1lb, 2lb, STS mainly. What I have managed to do is to not gain, but I have been REALLY good since new years day. Not a chocolate has passed my lips, I haven't had a biscuit, or major indulgence, apart from a Chinese meal, where even then I had a small portion. Just so long as I don't gain anything, I have to be content with that. Most months I may not make the 5lb target loss, but I try all the same.

dmv - I got bought a large box of chocs when we had all that snow, by a neighbour who's path I cleared, and I've still got them, sealed, in a cupboard nearby. I use them as a challenge to myself, to test my 'weak' willpower. I've also got a pack of Thorntons chocs from Valentines, still sealed too. They're with the other box in the cupboard. I am determined that they won't undermine me, and I have to learn to live with them being there. Now I hardly think about them, but I know they're there if I want them, it's just I choose not to eat them now. It can be done, although it's hard to begin with (like the first 6 weeks! :rotfl:)

I almost forgot to say : WELL DONE! to Hannah, dmv, unknown, Katara, granny, polka & anyone else I forgot who lost this week. WELL DONE! to BB, petcorner, fredsnail, nmm, Annie, Vixstar & anyone else who STS. Keep up the hard work anyone who struggled this week.
