when you set off for a run does the distance put you off? If i was going for a run now and said 5k i woukd be like ohhhhhhh thats too long. maybe im odd!!
I don't often go for a specific distance except for in PB attempts. I usually decide approx how long (duration) I'll be running/jogging and don't worry about how far I cover in that timeEspecially if it's a rough old cross country course which most of mine are
Generally I try to do one long run a week (currently at 2 to 3.5 hours), and 1-2 shorter runs of 30-60 mins. Wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it
Thanks Beanie & Vix0 -
Victory I would do what vixarooni said! Get sum barbed wire up! Lol. They should be told off about it. If she just sits there and lets them do it, how will they ever learn!
Oh and LMAO at the dad trying to ignore you
Polka the backpacks look good, is your DS big enough to be out of his pushchair now then?
Missy Well done on the PB! Fab time. I am aiming for less than 30minutes for my 5k run in july, so that's what all this training is for. That, and of course, fitness and losing weight. I won't just STOP training after the race.
I went for my run this morning, and instead of just running for 1.75miles like the schedule stated, I ran for 1.5 miles then ran back a bit then walked a bit then ran the rest. SO overall I have maybe ran further than 1.75 but I am going to gradually increase my Run time as opposed to the distance. I always go 5k, but was walking back half of it, now I will try and run more each time...If that makes any sense?
NMM I can't get away with Billy Blanks like! I hate the american in your face enthusiastic oooh look at me Im so fit and thin! Make me feel sick! Sorry, I know ur a fan, just thought I'd share my opinion. U have got to watch this Davina remix I just came across on youtube ! Victory - what on earth could happen if you had a pond:eek:. Totally the parents fault but it's your life ruined as well if they have an accident in your garden isn't it.
Some great results coming in - granny - I am very very suprised that your bmi has only just slipped down to over weight.
Well done on the PB missy. Good luck with the running andy. And nnm - reachng 9 stone from 10 is a great achievement, as the nearer you are to gol the harder it is:T
LOL kpc. Well done to sticking to plan yesterday:T
welcome back cathy - sounds like you know what you need to do.
We haven't seen Marion for a while. Last thing I remember was visitors were due...
Moonflower - looks like you are eating enough, so maybe stress has played a part? Also, it depends what size you are to start with. f you have quite a bit to lose then1st few weeks on plan can mean a lot off. Keep an eye on yourseflf and see what happens over the next month.
I will be lucky for a sts this week as I have been a little off piste these last few days. My excuse is a particularly bad TOTM, so focussing and caring about what I ate has been less of a priority.
Seren - not a bad holiday gain - you can soon get that off if you can get back on plan.
EDIT: almost forgot to tell you: OH was at the end of his warden duty at a local NT beautyspot when a visitor came up to him and said "just found this on the beach mate" and promptly put a live hand grenade in his hand:eek::eek:I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I don't have a pond but I have a water fountain much further back towards the beginning of the garden near the patio doors ,the trampoline is at the far end of the garden:rolleyes: talking of TOTM I weighed yesterday and had put on 4kg since friday:eek: good job I never flipped how can it be 4kg since friday then today back to normal phew or STS:D
hand grenade:eek:0 -
haha BB how funny!! Blooming scary, im just imagining a dads army scene in my head. Dont panic!! dont panic!! ha.
I remember when a farmer told matt about a ww1/2 bomb in his field, and the farmer kicked it!! Thankfully it turned out to be an old smoke thing but still! frightening stuff.
I love war stuff, so much of it around these parts still.
Im sitting in my mums conservatory, its soooo much warmer here. Think my guinea pigs are weird because alf was laying in the hay (surely this makes it warmer) so i have them outside now and theyre just constantly sniffing the air. They are too cute for words!!
anyway, gotta go and reluctantly pick matt up from work!!
see ya folks0 -
Victory I cant believe the cheek of your neighbours, unbelievable!
Cathy as has been said 13lbs is a brilliant loss, please dont get down on yourself, you are clearly doing well.
Well food has been strange today. Had cereal for breakfast then was sooo busy with work i forgot lunch, so have had a small portion of cornflakes. OH worked right through last night and is now in bed and will be till gone 10 tonight when he will get up and work through again (dealing with people abroad on the phone) so he wont have a proper dinner. Therefore I will once again have chicken and cous cous (YUM!) as have loads left from sunday so apart from boiling a kettle I wont have to cook tonight woo! Have got a good amount of uni work done today so Im happy, may try to do some more again later though. Right I'm off for another dog walk, catch you later.0 -
mmm couscous. i'm ploughing my way through a pile of basmati chicken rice and a couple of vegeburgers made with burgermix. i love it when the guys in the warehouse mess up my sample orders and I have to eat the evidence.0

Victory --- you must be so frustrated by your neighbours' behaviour. Maybe you could put something prickly to climb up the wall, or spikes. As Vix says you'd have to put warnings up for wire/spikes but I don't think you would for prickles.
Your new PB is great Missy, and andy - you'll soon be catching her up!
BB -- what has he done with the grenade now??? :eek:eek::eek:
Good luck with the move Vix0 -
