i'd be interested to hear about pedometers too - i've had a couple and i can't handle the ones that clip to your waist - I don't want it to be obvious at work, and if you clip it to your knickers to hide it it's really obvious.
I've decided that I'm going to back on SW. I'm going to use up my cereal thats in now, and go back on the online thing - it's £20 per month and when i did that first it really worked. So in a few weeks my menus are going to start looking a bit different.
Yesterday was meant to be

ps- pedometer is my daughters, not sure where she got it. Will find out tonight! When life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
I have just set up a page on the just giving website for DS' Toddle Waddle. Can I post the link here or should I go to the charities board? At any rate I did put a widget on my blog so you can pick it up there.
I think I need some help today....I have eaten: My vitality breakfast, 30g of cranberries (the dried sweetened kind) and some of my soup that I made yesterday with a bread roll. I made the soup by roasting a bag of casserole veg and blending it with some tomatoes. Having said this, I have only taken in 567 cals. Is it just me or is that low? I still have 700 odd cals available and I haven't done my exercises yet...according to food focus my 30 minutes on the wii is using about 195 calories. Does this look right to you?
Then of course I couldnt go out today because DF has taken my keys to work:mad:He couldnt find his (he gave them to DS to play with last night) and "didn't think I would mind looking for his keys since I HAVE MORE TIME TO DO NOTHING THAN HE DOES!!!!" Needless to say I have NOT found the keys...I have emptied toy boxes and dustbins (and cut myself on a tin in the recycling) checked the washer and the drier and under all the beds and in all the drawers.
Marion its so nice to have you back...Id also be interested in a pedometer.0 -
The doctor I seen today was such a !!!!. I've seen him once before, when I was at my biggest and I asked him back then if he would give me Xenical, and he point blank refused. Well I had him today, and he WON'T take the implant out my arm, instead he gave me ANOTHER contraceptive pill, and said to wait and see if that stopped the bleeding, well maybe it will but it might irritate my eyes? I prefer the mini pill but it doesn't stop the constant bleeding unfort!
Then I said I need another 2months of Xenical (that's the most they can give you at once) and he started ummm'ing and ahhh'ing about it, made me jump on the scales (glad I was wearing heavy clothes because he apparently won't give it to anyone with a BMI under 30, though I think it's supposed to be 28!) and then he said he wasn't going to give me it because they don't work (HELLO I'VE LOST OVER 4STONES, although I know that's more because of a change of lifestyle than those pills, but every lil helps as they say) and I'm wasting NHS money because it costs £30 a month. I was just gobsmacked so I just let rip and said OH WELL I'LL JUST LEAVE HERE AND START MUNCHING MY WAY BACK TO FATDOM, AND WE'LL SEE HOW MUCH I'LL COST THE NHS WHEN I HAVE DIABETES AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!
He reluctantly gave me ONE MONTH of them, does he not see that me going back to the doctors a month early is costing the NHS more money? What an utter pleb, he doesn't listen to you either keeps going AHA MMHMMM, over you, it's highly irritating.
He is the only doctor I've seen in that surgery who is negative and a douche, won't be seeing him again, I wrote down his name so I know to avoid him!
He must try and save as much NHS cash as he can so he can get a big fat bonus ontop of his massive salary. ARRRRGGGH.
Sorry about my ranting, he just totally irked me and I left the surgery FUMING, just the whole way he was talking down to me and making me feel like some kind of fat sponger, god forbid not a whole £30 a month!! I wonder what all those half packets of contraceptive pills in my cupboard is costing since they won't remove that stupid implant? Grrrr
I must say I am pleased with myself because normally when I'm narked off I will have a mega binge and trust me I really wanted too, even went into the baker on the way back, but decided at the last minute to just buy DD a cream bun and got myself a can of diet coke.
Me and DD went for a big long walk and went to Lidl, got some mince for spag bol tonight, think I might just skip the pasta part though, I prefer the bol, yum!0 -
:beer::beer:Thanks DMV:j:j:jYou are the first:)0

dmv - that is a great result moving down the bmi chart! Don't worry too much about the long term stuff, if you focus on your next mini-target you'll be fine! I always, always gain on holidays too - even active holidays! I just accept it and enjoy every day of it... I might as well gain weight and be happy rather than gain weight and be worried/fretting
I have a pedometer, but I found it to be really inaccurate. I was very careful about entering an accurate stride length, but it still told me a 7.1km route was 5km... :rotfl: I don't think it was counting every step. Probably get what you pay for
Polkadot - calorie burn counts are different for everyone so it's hard to say whether 195 sounds right. It will also depend what you're doing on the wii as not all of it will have significant calorie-burning potential. All I can suggest is going on a calorie burn calculator such as the one on Fitday and selecting an exercise or activity which closely matches the effort you feel you're putting in on the wiiIt will then calculate based on your personal stats so this should give you some idea.

You're very welcome polkadot. Ooooh I feel all special lol.
Buttons - I'm sorry you had a bad doctor experience. I used to hate my old doctors, as the woman they used to give me lots was quite old and harsh and had a go at me about my weight when I was going in to get strong painkillers after operations, you would think she would have given me a break i was only a kid at at the time only a couple of stone overweight so wasnt huge. I have a brilliant doctor now and think everyone deserves that, so definitely dont go back to him again as you dont deserve to be made to feel like that! Why can't you demand to have your implant taken out? Its your body. I would go back (to another doctor) and make a fuss about it.0 -
buttons did you see on the news the new tablet coming out at pharmacy calle ALLI? It says it can make you loose 50% more of what your weight loss is so for every 2lb it is another 1lb? They have it in google and there are posters all over the chemist £50 I think it is for BMI over 28 like you said have a look see what you think it was heavily advertised on the news etc0
-
I think ALLI is just the same as Xenical actually, except it's 15mg and Xenical is 30mg - So I'd rather pay the £4 on prescription than the £49  they want in my chemist (saw them advertising it today)
I am pretty sure it's the same thing anyways, you take a pill with your meal and the fat from your meal gets dragged down to your bowels and you poo it out instead of your body absorbing it?
Not 100% sure though.
DMV - I am going to insist they take it out, I'm utterly sick of it, the side effects are only supposed to last 6months apparently, I've had it in for over 8months and without the contraceptive pill, I bleed constantly, bearing in mind i've only had ONE month without a bleed, because of the "right" pill, I have acne because of it and my breasts leak milk. Doesn't make me feel very attractive thats for sure!0
