Ugh tonight has been a real mess up! I decided to try a new recipe for thai fish cakes and followed it to the letter. Wasn't too happy about frying them as i would normally do fishcakes in the oven but thought I will do it their way first time etc...Well! The oil spat at me and burnt my eye, so OH was looking after them while I ran around screaming, then they fell apart so he suggested i try and grill the rest of them. Well when I pulled it out of the oven to turn them over the tray somehow flew off the oven shelf and splattered all over my oven...argh! So I've just done OH one of the emergency pizzas in the freezer, and if I get hungry i will just have some cereal or cous cous later. I started crying in pain/frustration and OH was really nice and cuddling me then we both burst out laughing...what a palava.

A few days ago OH told me I was definitely looking much slimmer, and how proud of me he was. Obviously that was really nice but I did have to say that he sooooo doesnt make it easy (has gone back to buying himself junk so apart from sweetner and half fat cheese there are no changes) and he said thats why hes so proud of me! Oh and then persuaded me (took over an hour) into having a curry that night! He had extras which i didnt, and he had a third of my curry so at least not quite as bad as it could have been. For that reason, despite having been good, I guess I should be happy if i sts? I wont be tho...so gonna have to try extra hard and hopefully get at least a little off!

LOL dmv - I've had evenings like that. Well done for trying a new recipe though! I've been sitting here for ages trying to pick new ones to try over the next two week, from my new book, so I can buy any extra ingredients tomorrow at asda.
As for the forum closing for 3 days:eek:  .
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I’m going to have to go and look for those WW soups you’ve all been talking about. I struggle to find soup that I enjoy.
Spicey hope the renovations are going well. I’m always jealous of the process.
Somnium Well done on the loss. Hope your tooth work is feeling better now-next time you need work like that, have a look for some arnica syrup. It’s a herbal remedy that has anti-inflammatory effects. I use it whenever I have surgery of any kind. When I had my wisdoms taken out (all four together), I took it once a day two days prior. I was put under general and had a birthday party the day after-are steak rolls with everyone else.
Victory Well done on the salad-I cant wait to get there.
Sary what a nightmare. I just told DF about it and he’s gobsmacked. Getting all angry for you saying how he HATES accountants and it’s the idea of “some silly !!!! who likes how pretty his excel workbook looks”. I hope you can find a way to make it work. Hope the tummy’s feeling better now-I’ve been in the same way all day today-but I think it had more to do with the 6 or 7 archers and lemonade I had last night, mixed with at least two sambuca’s and the icing on the cake would have been the glass of wine I downed just before leaving the pub. I’m probably lucky I didn’t get arrested. Haven’t been on a bender like that since I was in my early twenties, and I definitely WON’T EVER do it again. I didn’t think I was feeling even tipsy-and then we left and the air hit me and now I’m convinced I should never leave the house again-Im sure I was THAT embarrassing. I do feel better knowing that Buttonmoons was up to the same naughtiness...I’m sorry about the burn, having a bath with two cups of vinegar works wonders too....as do two teaspoons diluted with two tablespoons of water for the nausea.
Raph thanks for the cooking lesson. I’ve always liked sushi-but not with fish filling (I know) so making my own sounds tempting since I can do vege fillings instead.
DMV What a horrible evening, but at least OH was nice about it.
I’m almost tempted to not bother weighing tomorrow-with the miscarriage and last night I’m sure Im looking at a gain-but then I suppose it would be best to weigh anyway so that I can correct the damage. I’m going to get my notebook out tomorrow and plan next week properly-do a walkthrough around the house to see what Flylady needs to fix, work out things to do with DS and food. We haven’t done a proper food shop for about two months-working on stuff bought in in January and store cupboard challenge. Guess we’re off to Aldi or something tomorrow.

I think I'll have to plan ahead for the 3 day shut down! I've just started a blog today though, so may end up writing a book on there as a result!

Well, my dodgy belly ended up as a case of 'don't trust a f@rt!' Remember there was a discussion about colonic irrigation a few weeks back - I think on Radio 1?..... OK, well I don't need one now!

My belly was like a bouncy castle this morning. I don't feel sick anymore, but it's been odd all day. I've managed to eat, but have felt really cold and tired. The good news is that we've finally finished the bloomin shed, inside and out. The panelling is all done inside, insulated, painted, the lot. OH has even put some storage cabinets in today, fixed to the wall. I'm going to paint it inside eventually, but not right now, as the paint is expensive. I had to come in as I kept needing the loo!:o

    Food today:
B - toast with scraping of butter
    L - roll & 2 slices of crispy bacon
    D - toast, with jam
Snacks - some sports jellies - half a bag! 340cals! I just fancied something fruity so OH brought them back from the shop.

OH has got a really heavy cold now too, so is proper poorly with that. It's not quite man flu, but he's officially broken the sneezing record today I'm sure.

Polkadot - I'm glad you were able to have a good night out last night, and your plan sounds very efficient! Bless your DF being angry on behalf of my OH.

DMV - I've had cooking fiascos like that. Nightmare.

ffm - the Samaritans are going to be inundated during that 3 day switch off! Glad I have my facebook and twitter to keep me ticking along in the meantime.

Hope to feel much brighter and breezier tomorrow. The other good news is that I've finally managed to freecycle my 2 sofas, and a desk too! hurrah!:T
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Time to book the Kentish meet - it will be a bit like an AA meeting (as portrayed on the TV), we can sit round in a circle and talk about our need to post daily/hourly on MSE :rotfl:

  • Reporting a 1.6lb gain - on 13947 calories and 5/7 days exercise (1925 cals burned)

My exercise this week included 3 gym sessions, a spin class and horseriding lesson.

Happy with the gain in weight as I have gained 1.8lb muscle and lost 0.3lb fat (according to my scales).

The most pleasing reading was the Bone Mass which has gone from 4.4lb to 4.6lb - I shall keep an eye on this - I'm hopeful it is not a 'blip'.

Although I am now above my original 'maintaining' weight by 3.8lb, I have not gained an inch - so I may revise this weight when I finally settle on a weight. If I want to be 'fit' I clearly need to weigh more.

Someone raised this question earlier in the week regarding us having a 'set weight' below which it would be unhealthy to drop or unrealistic to maintain - I could go back to my earlier weight but I would have to drop out the exercise - now, that would be crazy, my measurements would be identical but I would not be as fit.

Reporting a 900 G gain. Considering what my little bods been through the last week or so I'm pretty happy. I was expecting much worse. I'm doing cupcakes today for DF to take to work tomorrow as it was his birthday yesterday ( I didn't even bake him a cake:o).So I might do that today too.
Also did my lists last night, so we just need to buy in some food.
