Ooh vix, flat sounds lovely. Will the cathedral bells be a pain or would you like them?

nope, i dont think i would hear them much anyway. I like the sound, its the most amazing building ever, makes me feel humbled...i dunno if thats the right word!
• Hello one and all

I have just had tonnes to catch up on if you miss a week that is a lot reading.

Sorry I missed weigh in this week I seem to have lost this week through being busy and not having 5 mins to myself. Have eaten far too much food over the past 3 days so dread to think how I will start the new month.

Feeling very down at the moment as I am still waiting for my damn Physio appointment so my exercise is still restricted. There is only so much wii fit free step you can do!!! When I tried some cross training my shoulder ached for 4 days after so think I had better be patient.

Congrats to everyone on the great losses this week/month

Take care

Ouch Somnium, have they recommended anything to help? (last time I had a wisdom tooth out they suggested swilling my mouth out with warm salt water after eating or drinking anything to make sure no infection took hold.)

Hehe it was more waiting for the anesthetic to wear off! now its gone I've managed to eat and feel much better :) Had the chicken stew/caserole (what ever you call it) that I made in the slow cooker yesterday, tres yummy. Also had a couple of blueberry and white choc cookies which were even yummier. Still a little sore but much better than I thought it would be.

Hello All,
didn't manage to read or post yesterday.

Polkadot - I'm so sorry for you & your OH's loss. It's not an easy thing to go through, and you'll have difficult days ahead, but don't feel you can't let us know when those days are, as we all want to be able to support you. It sounds like you are still keeping a plan going, which will focus your thoughts, and can only be a good thing.

Dragon - I had chicken pox 3 years on the trot, each time either on my birthday or over Christmas! I know how frustrating it can be. Apparently it's because you don't get a really awful dose of it, so the immune system doesn't build up as well. I didn't get nicknamed 'Spotty Maldoon' by my dad for nothing!

Well, food has been a bit off piste. I think it's a knock on effect from my disappointment, and thinking oh begger it, if I don't eat I don't lose, so maybe I need to eat? So I have.

B - porridge
L - 1 hot x bun (150 cal) ryvita minis (100 cals)
D - h/m beef casserole + mash
Snack - hot x bun, nairns oat cookie x 3

Today:
B - 1 bagel, 1 hot x bun (eeek!) about 400 cals!
L - left over casserole (more a veg soup), 0% greek yog, strawbs & banana
snack - 1 nairns oat cookie
D - 3 small pieces of pizza, a sausage roll, some ham, some french stick + birthday cake.
Dinner was a spread I put on for my son's birthday tea, so it was a help yourself thing.

I have been busy all day, doing DIY, etc., but nothing too exerting.

OH has been told he's not been earmarked to be made redundant, but he's also been told that they don't want him outbased anymore (he lives over 100 miles from his work's base), and want him to go into the base morning & evening, so commute in, then drive for 8 hours doing his deliveries, then driving back home. For a start he can't be driving for 12 hours a day and be safe, secondly commuting will just be a financial burden on us. He feels he's not even being given an opportunity to talk to anyone about it, it's just orders being passed down the line, and the new bosses are being very hardline. I've told him that if he can't see a way of making it work, then he has my blessing to walk away, as much as I know he'll hate to, because he really loves his job, how it was. He simply can't be getting up at 5am driving to London, getting in a truck, driving back up to Norfolk, returning to London for 5pm, then driving back up to Lincolnshire. It may look good on a spreadsheet, but the reality will be a nightmare! OH is clearly upset by it, but is trying to be philosophical, but I know inside he's feeling angry. He's a laid back, calm kind of guy, but he's gone down with a heavy cold overnight, and is tetchy. I woke up at 6am to find him staring at me! No idea how long he'd been awake, but it scared the bejeezus out of me! lol

We celebrate our 6th anniversary this weekend. Chinese blow out tomorrow to celebrate, and then it's back on the wagon again for me. I've had a couple or so days off from calorie counting in earnest, and will refocus again next week. I'll feel better for having let go of the reins for a bit, and then taking control again.

Thanks so much for the support and advice, I really appreciate it.
Victory, it must have been a big worry for you with your OH's job, but well done on the meal out - kudos to you!

thats a real pain sary. I'm sure he appreciates how supportive you are being. v impressed raph at making you own sushi. I always though it would be a real faff and have never bothered - am i completely wrong? Vix, I love canterbury cathedral too, i've only been a couple of times but it is lovely. I got a proper pilgrim badge from there that i wear during re-enactments to show that I've been 'oon pilgrimage' to see 'the hooly blisful martir'. Oh and to see the black prince too. How different would our history have been if he'd survived to take the throne? The Victorians have ruined his tomb. IT used to be a beautiful alabaster, but they decided that as he was known as the black prince(after his death) they should paint it black and trashed it.

foodwise, yesterdays plan was

ricicles, milk and oj
special k chocolate, milk and apple
cup osup
sausage amd mash, maybe gravy or sauce, tom juice

and i had
ricicles, mik and oj
parma ham salad sarnie, apple(no milk)
bit of granola, couple of beetroots
som sausage and mash but didn't really like it tonight, so binned it and had a pack of prawns instead

Todays plan isn't a plan really - i'm off iceskating and then staying at a friends tonight before spending the whole day and perhaps evening out on sunday. So i'm just going to try and rein in my instincts - don't think i'll be quite as successful as victory!

Victory - awww babe, have a (((hug))) It is such a worrying time, and it's not made any easier when you, like me, are unable to find any work to help out. There's just nothing out there at the mo, and my OH was told last week that a job in a factory that was advertised locally had over 1000 applicants! How mad is that?

Well, it seems last night was revenge of the sausage rolls, pizza & birthday cake. I awoke at 3am with the most dreadful stomach pains, thought I might be sick, then I thought I might just explode! It just carried on, and on with my tummy 'bubbling', groaning, and generally complaining. As it turned out nothing very spectacular happened, and my insides have calmed down a lot now, but I feel soooo tired. I don't think we'll venture out for your Chinese tonight now, but our anniversary meal can wait. I may even resort to caffeine to get me through today - I'm usually a decaf girl.

Have a lovely day iceskating Katie, we'll hopefully all be as good as Victory when we go out in due course.

If I stay awake, I'll be back later! :)

Hey folks, diet hasn't been great the past few days. Went out and got sooo drunk last night, and I was up all night vomiting because of it, so had about 2hrs of sleep. Also went to the sunbeds yesterday, stand & tan, and I stupidly did 9minutes, and I am BURNT everywhere, I am in so much pain, I can barely walk. Had to get OH to cover me in calamine lotion. Never going on those again, can't even have my daughter on my lap as it reduces me to tears.
• Not on yesterday as went to parents after work. Eating off piste as kpc would say, but I felt in need of mums tlc, which means yummy food:D .

Back on track today. Been to second pilates class this morning:A .
A book I ordered from amazon has just arrived: 'The Big Book of Low C@rb recipes' by Nicol@ Gr@imes. It had a lot of positive reviews on amazon and from a quick glance looks packed full of great ideas. I am definitely finding eating lower carb is helping the horrid drug related hunger, so feel this is the way to go for me.
So monthly asda shop due tomorrow so today will be making big shopping list to incorporate some new recipe ideas.

Sary - I'm not suprised you OH feels angry - such ridiculous announcements look so good on paper but take no account of our humanity and do not reward his commitment , loyalty and hard work. Good luck with what ever the outcome is.
Buttonmoons - getting burnt from tanning machines is sooo not a good idea with regard to skin cancer:(. I hate saying things like that, and don't like to tell people how to live their lives, so I say this out of worry for you: I've had hospital light treatment and get loads of cancer warning with that and they have to keep an extra close eye on me so I am very aware of the dangers of sunbeds and would never touch one.

Thanks for the mini history lesson kpc. I always fancied doing the pilgrim route to Santiago del compostela in Spain after reading about Bettin@ Selby's (travel writer) cycling the pilgrim route down there.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
