v impressed raph at making you own sushi. I always though it would be a real faff and have never bothered - am i completely wrong?

Little bit of faffing, but not too bad.
The rice takes about an hour to do (soak in cold water for 30 mins, simmer for 10 (this is where I went wrong:rolleyes:) then leave to stand for 20 mins)
Then you put your sheet of seaweed on a rolling mat (tea towel is just as good)
Spread the cooled rice over the seaweed, add whatever you want in a line down the centre of the rice (I've used peppers & cucumbers sliced into strips, tuna, salmon)
Then the fiddly bit is rolling it, you pickup the edge of the mat and roll it, pressing down hard to make a firm roll, then slice and eat! It scrummy dipped in soy & wasabi :p

Have a look at this site if I've confused you!

Just got in from the gym and scoffed 2 carrots and hummus, it's currently my fave snack right now. Mmmmmm :)

Hi all, I've had a quick catch up and there seems to be a lot of problems around at the moment :( Really hope there's lots of good news on the way, sounds like a few people need it :)

Anyway congrats on the good results & well deserved SOTWs Beanie and KPC :D

BB good luck with the new recipes, what's with the @'s in the book title and author name? Hope low carb works for you, keep us posted :)

I'm really pleased with the week I've had, it's proper Missy-textbook-style with loads of good variety :p
    • Monday: Mountain Biking trails, hills 1h52m (590 cal)
    • Tuesday: Cross country run 1h50m (810 cal)
    • Wednesday: Yoga dvd 25m (0 cal)
    • Thursday: Ice skating 1h20m (517 cal)
    • Friday: Gym sesh multi equip 1h07m (399 cal), Swim 15m (70 cal)
    • Saturday: Skipping rope 30m (194 cal)
    • Sunday: Day of rest
Total 7h20m and 2580 calorie burn. Average intake per day 1669 calories and therefore intake less 'exercise cals' per day = 1300 which is just a touch over my BMR = perfect! :D

I have about 1lb I'd like to lose before next weigh in, and this plan should lose me 0.5lb/week (can't tell if it's working at the moment because TOTM due :p). After that the net cals can go back up by 250/day :)

Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

Missy, the @'s are a habit I've picked up from others on the 4k challenge, as it stops my post coming up if Jo public google search the book, or Asd@ or any other product name.
Looks like another good exercise week, and your bikes getting a good work out.

    Menu today:
Breakfast: quorn burger & poached egg.
Lunch: onion, spinach, mushroom & feta HM fritata. Very yum.
dinner: lamb steaks, caneloni bean lemony mash & green beans
    snacks: fruit, wheetabix

Thanks for the sushi tips raph - I ought to give that a go sometime.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

BB I know, they are evil! I only went as I heard they were good for clearing up your spots, or as OH says clears your spots and gives you skin tumours, hah.

I won't be going back, I feel so raw and my skin is BRIGHT red, OH says I resemble a lobster, I'm having to walk around almost naked as I can't tolerate clothes rubbing me. Sight for sore eyes.
