I'll go to the doctors and get my thyroid checked, I think it could be partly my diet to blame aswell (not for ALL The thinness but some of it) As some days I don't even eat past 700calories because I'm just not hungry and I hear that's bad, but I don't wanna force food down, that's how I got fat!!
So today I've had
1 pack S & V snack a jacks
and erm thats it. Really have 0 appetite since this morning, OH is making spag bol, it's quite late but I'll try and eat down a bowl.
On a positive note, I fit into a couple of size 14 tops today. So pretty happy about that.
Wowza - I'm not the only one that under eats! I am seriously pleased with myself because I have got over 1,000 calories for 4 days on the run!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I don't know but she is having it done privately so I'm guessing that if you are overweight and willing to pay then they will do it regardless?0 -
Well done Dragon, I've read before that the doctors messed up your eating by telling you to eat less & less.
I do undereat about 2/3 times a week, but not usually to the extent of today.
I just managed a big plate of spag bol and garlic bread so I'm sure I've had plenty of calories now! OH makes better spag bol than me, don't tell him I said that though!
DMV - That seems quite extreme, esp since she knows she COULD get to a size 16 like before, which isn't exactly OBESE is it? Is the gastric bypass when they put a balloon or something in your stomach? Cause I heard you can still stuff your face on junk like chocolate as, it melts into a liquid doesn't it?
10k!!! Mad! Be better hiring a personal trainer & a dietcian or something0 -
According to bupa "A gastric bypass operation involves creating a small stomach pouch and bypassing part of your small intestine to make your digestive system shorter, although nothing is actually removed. This means that you can only eat small meals and your body absorbs less food"
I said the same thing about a personal trainer and dietician. Her mind is made up though. I know when you lose weight you have to change the way you eat long term, but the idea of never being able to occassionally pig out on a special occassion etc is quite horrible.0 -
Seems quite extreme to loose some weight (knowing she could do it again, having done it before)
Well best of luck to her but I wouldn't like to have my insides tampered with!!0 -
Sorry have been missing this week, have had an annoying cold - nothing like the medical problems some of you have but its left me very tired and unable to concentrate.
Anyway on to cheerier things a 3.5lb loss this week. Have weighed myself at the usual time, usual place, on my usual scales for the first time this month so i feel this is my first properly consistent/accurate weigh in this month. (I have been using my own scales for my previous weigh ins but in a totally different place with a different floor surface)
Belated Happy Birthday to Granny and :grouphug: for Dragon0 -
Morning all, and happy Mothers Day to all.
Just wanted to add my two pennorth to the discussion about gastric bypass surgery. I have a friend who has had it done, and although it isn't something I would consider for myself, I understand her decision and support her. She was my SW buddy, and has lost 8 stone and then regained it again, twice. She doesn't binge eat, and follows a healthy diet, but for some reason she can't keep the weight off. She knows that being overweight is going to cause health problems for her later in life, and the rollercoaster of losing and gaining weight can't be good for you, so she decided to do it.
She can only eat very small portions, has to take dietary supplements to make sure she isn't malnourished, and she will never be able to sit down to a big meal again, but she's nearly at her target weight and looks great. It isn't an easy decision to make - she still has to be careful about her intake, and weightloss isn't guaranteed unless you stick to a low calorie diet.
Nothing is removed, so the operation is reversible, but it would cost the same amount again!
Have a great day.

Morning all. I'm guessing those who read my previous posts have guessed that I personally don't celebrate mothers day (!) but happy mothers day to all that do. My radio alarm woke me up to the news that Jade Goody passed away in her sleep, whilst that sounds peaceful, it really is a cruel twist of fate for those poor children with it being mothers day. I think that in itself will make a lot of mums and children more appreciative today than previous mothers days.
I didnt get to bed till 5 am last night as everytime I laid down my back went mad, so I am suitably shattered. Food wise has been cereal so far, will have soup as a late lunch, and as previously said roast duck tonight. I cut the grass yesterday and did some weeding, along with 2 hours of dog walking. That combined with my dog walking today surely entitles me to a proper roast?!0 -

Measureed my tumy and waite today, so I can see if there is any differnce at the end of my 7 weeks of pilates classes. Was very good and didn't breathe in:D
Dragon - what can I say, other than isn't this complete and utter !!!!!!! (saved the censor sometime). I want to say 'surely someone can do something' just to feel useful, but i know full well that you have left no stone unturned yourself and that the answer is no. Life does not always have the pretty and neat endings we think must be there in the name of justice.
Do you under eat becasue you have no appetite? And if so, is that because of the pain or the drugs?
Buttonmoon - do you know why you have no appetite? It is hard to eat when you are not hungry but is there anyway you can make yourself have some veg soup for lunch or something healthy but not too filling? That won't make you fat. I'm sure that undereating isn't helping your over all health and your body will hanging like mad to any fat stores if it is unsure when the next meal is coming. Sounds a difficult problem.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
