Good evening all!
Back home in time for ds's music lesson. We stopped at Costco on the way and picked up the mince that I forgot the other day. Got a pack of lamb and a pack of beef. That will be made into bol, chilli, meatballs, burgers etc for the freezer.
In the car on the way home I gave my ds (15) my big notebook/diary and suggested he made a meal plan for the next 10 days or so. Till I have to do the shop a week on Sunday.
He made a good job of it, after I discussed different aspects of menu planning...what was happening that day (no point in asking for HM pizza if we're dashing in at the last minute), what we have in, not having rice or anything else for days on the trot. ONe job less for me to do when I got home. We also have a list of stuff that needs to be made for the freezer e.g tomato sauce, refried beans, tortillas etc.
Nothing desperately OS tonight as it's chorus. Had sausage pasta with tomato sauce. Was quite nice. I would have liked a bit of salad, but we had just come in from being away.
I have so many things that I want to do at the moment, don't know where to start.
Sorry to hear of illnesses etc, hope peeps are on the mend.
Oh! this is OS! Have discovered that my 'foster-niece' likes Barbie dolls, so I can make a wardrobe of clothes for her birthday! I hate doing them, but it will save some ££, but she will love some of the fabrics and stuff I have to make up![SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. How does a day in the life of an OSer go? We all gain so much from these boards but all live different lives and I was wondering how a typical day goes for you....
Do you work? Do you grow your own veg? Do you earn extra income from sideline businesses or a cottage industry? Do you go to a supermarket or shop daily at the local shops? Do you share a teabag with the family or have to have fresh coffee?
Care to share???:j0 -

Ok, it was more a general thing than "how was your day today?" to find out how all the famous names on here spend their days.0 -
Evening all,
Happy Birthday RavyLesley, hope you are having a good day xx
Hugs to those in need, its a busy thread today.
I missed the Amish programme, but will try to see it on catch up, my dd and I went to America four years ago for a holiday, and we were lucky enough to visit shipshewana, which is an Amish town, it was an amazing place, very peaceful, horses and carts every where, it was like walking back in time, all the children were dressed smartly, but in what we would consider old fashioned clothes, it was the only place in the USA where I saw washing hanging on the line, and we had the best food we had for the whole holdiay there. I also bought some hand made Xmas decs, which are beautiful and I still use every year, it ws a truly wonderful place.
Moggins, hope you are ok ? please let us know you are allright xx
Silvercharming, top 20 % eh ?? not sure if this is true, but it would be nice

Hi cookie|_monster
my days.......usually like today during week - up, shower, eat, make sandwiches, out by 7.45, drive 18 miles to work, teach fulltime in a college, home about 5.30, walk dogs, feed them, feed me/ us (if DH is here), evenings tend to be reading, general pottering. Weekends -longer dog walks, batch cooking and cleaning.
Sounds like I'm moaning but I do like my life - just feel a bit kn*ckered at the mo!

Evening all
Things are finally returning to normal, DD is loads better & I was able to leave her at 4 today, which gave me chance to go to the butchers & put petrol in the car. I'm very relieved as I'm working tomorrow, I may still go to hers at 7 for a couple of hours & then go to work. I have to say it's exhausting looking after a 4 yo & a 1yo all day, I must be getting old, I used to manage 4 of them, lol.
D&DD congrats on becoming debtfree, Happy birthday Lesley.
Have a good evening everyone.
Hugs Hester

Red Ruby, we stayed in Shipshewana too at the Morton Street Guest House for 4 nights whilst we 'did' the area. In our case it was quilt orientated.....we ate at the Amish restaurant a couple of nights. The first part of the trip was to Kentucky where we went to the quilt show in Paducah and it was there I met the Amish quilter, she opened her studio for the week of the quilt show. A lovely lady, I still hear from her from time to time. I have read extensively about the Amish since I was a teenager and had long wanted to visit an Amish community, thanks to my friend Ana and her husband I was able to fulfill one of the 10 things on my list of ;to do before I die' I made a quilt based on my visit. There is a photo of it in my webshots album, its still waiting to be quilted
For those of you who missed the Amish programme its on BBCI player.......................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
