Monica, so sorry to hear how things are going for you. You seem to have such integrity around all the aspects of the situation you are in and all the outcomes you have considered. Although it may feel as though this is the end of your relationship with SS, it may not necessarily be the case. I genuinely hope it isn't. Take care.0

A question springs to mind..
Have you had your refund yet?0 -
Speaking personally, I don't think that your actions are harsh at all. You should do what you feel is best for everyone concerned.
Others on here will no doubt disagree.
Good luck in your endeavours
I hope all this makes her life a living hell. She does not deserve to have children if she can decieve and treat them this way. I have no doubt in my mind she will have fed that poor boy a load of rubbish just for her own gain.
What goes around comes around, it may have taken 10 years, but by god is she going to reap this now.
So so sorry for everything this woman has put you through. Good luck to you all and I hope that one day soon you can regain contact with your SS.0 -

Hi, sorry not upated. We decided to take a couple of weeks holiday away from it all and have just returned. We decided to leave things until we returned, just to make sure that hubby still felt the same about claiming a refund. The paperwork will be sent in the next week or so. I will keep you updated.0 -

We have received a call from the CSA today to confirm that the Cellmark report has been received and the case will now be closed (they will confirm this in writing). As hubby has been paying via the CSA since 2001, it will take 4 - 6 weeks to calculate the refund. They said they will persue the "mother" to a certain degree but will always consider the welfare of the child when making demands for repayment - in other words they have less than NO chance of getting a bean from her.
Nothing else to report really apart from the pain of SS not being part of our lives is still VERY raw.0 -
Hi Monica,
I'm glad it's all near the end for you and your hubby.
Take Care

My husband has just discovered (DNA Test) that he is not the biological father of a 10 year old he has been supporting financially since birth (over £30k in CSA payments) and he visits us every fortnight.
We have been told this is a very complex case and we realise there are emotional and financial aspects to this news. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice would be appreciated.
I suspect the CSA will wash their hands of it.0 -

i have read on the csa website that if your husband has not contested paternity before then the money he has already paid to the csa, he will not get any of this back what they will do is cease the payments immediately until paternity is either confirmed or denied0
