If everybody was on the database from birth, there would be a huge saving in deterrence against committing certain serious criminal offences that cost a fortune to investigate, prosecute, and punish. Not to mention making society nicer and safer.
Maybe the divorce rate and absentee parenting would go down if a minority of women had to be honest about the father and behaved accordingly better, and deadbeat dads couldn't evade their responsibility. Won't happen of course, but there's no reason it couldn't.Been away for a while.0 -

A brief update:
For a number of reasons (mostly emotional, which I don't really want to expand on here, sorry), we decided not to persue contact via the courts. So, it has been 12 months to last weekend since we saw or spoke with SS. A very sad anniversary BUT we live in hope that one day there will be a reunion. We have had to move on with our lives but there will always be a special liitle boy missing from all our lives.

monica,
As someone who's had a child break off contact I feel so sad for you, I'm a grown up man and this whole thing has made me feel very emotional.
It will get easier, but it will take a long time.
keep strong and whatever make sure that your OH doesn't get eaten up by this ( worst times are Birthdays, Christmas and fathers day ). I've paid the CSA off and stopped them taking payments:beer:
I'm stillowed some arrears by my ex
I was a NRP, now I'm a PWC, partner of a PWC, and parent of a PWC ( and very confused at times )0 -
Sorry to hear that, hope things improve for your family in the future, monica0

Monica, don't forget to see if the little lad is on facebook from time to time, you might be able to make contact with him there too. Good luck. x0

Read this from start to finish, really did get to me I must say. My friend is potentially in the same boat, always had the doubt but never acted on it in fear of the repocussions (sp)/losing his child. Wills how him this thread as it could help him one way or the other, especially how there seems to be a few of these cases.
Can't imagine what you've been through Monica, I do believe your SS will seek and find you both somewhere down the line. And I'm glad you done what you did and got some consultion out of it. Obviously would've been better if he was the biological father.
Ps - sorry to bump this thread.0 -
