The upshot was, the parents in law disowned our son, daughter and myself, with no discussion or appeal. His revenge was total, it was the final insult after years of physical and emotional abuse, for my children to lose half their family in one hit, was a numbing and sickening experience.
I hope you can weather this storm, and restore your emotional equilibrium.

Oh my, what a sad situation. I cannot even begin to imagine the emotional devastation and turmoil .............0 -

May I wish you and your family a Happy Christmas as you can have - I realise this may be a difficult time for you all. x
Thanks LG - This is a really difficult time for the the entire family. We have lost a son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew etc etc as well as the loss of hubby's Mum this year, I am just so thankful that we decided to have a child together and that my husband has 2 wonderful adult stepchildren, they all adore him (as did SS). Thankfully we are a strong family unit and will get through this together.
BTW - love reading your posts (you crack me up!!) and for what it's worth I do not think you are anti NRP, you are a level headed PWC, doing the best for your daughter :T. Thanks for your support.0 -
The figure I have heard quoted is that 5% of children are being brought up by the "wrong" dad. A frightening figure even if only half that amount. Maybe all new born children should be DNA tested.Been away for a while.0

Who will be paying for all these DNA tests?
I wonder if the money the CSA mistakingly collects from non-biological father's, and has to pay back (usually without being able to fully or sometimes partially collect from the BM due to how it might affect the child) would be comparable with the costs of that dna testing.0 -

either here on DT?
Why should every parent be subjected to a DNA test? Some may not know who the father of their child is, why should the majority of us who do be subjected to DNA testing.*SIGH*0 -

Yeah, there was a discussion about this in DT recently. Well, it started here and then go moved there;)0

Think of the cost and rise in divorce rate if this happened, it would remove all doubt as to who the father is though!0
