Same here! The mother would of had an idea 10 years ago that he might not of been the father. Id take her to court to get it back. Also did you know that it is an effence to have a name put on the birth cirtificate if you are not 100% sure that they are the farther!

    Is it really?
Although I assume that mistakes can be made...on both sides

I have just watched last week’s BBC One Show on the subject of negative paternity tests (thanks CB for your contribution). http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00kftl9/b00kfthk/The_One_Show_15_05_2009/
It saddened and sickened me to hear the defence of both the CSA spokesman and the psychologist/agony aunt for the “mother” – “genuine misunderstanding” “she has convinced herself”, why oh why? can it be so acceptable that these women are not held accountable for their actions both financial and emotional ………………………..

We have just received confirmation that Cellmark have received the test samples from the mother and "son". We should get the results back in a week or so ...............

Hopefully it won't be too long a wait as col blighty's results came through in a few days.

I can empathise how you feel - I KNEW the results of mine but I ws still like a cat on hot bricks for the time it took for mine to come through (mind you mine's was through the CSA so it probably took longer than going 'private')

Hubby called them this morning they've started the testing and we should get the results by the end of next week. I guess it's going to confirm what we know but it's still a horrible feeling and the “what if's” just won't go away.

    Monica,

whilst i was waiting i was a bag of nerves with the what if's but then the letter came and confirmed what we already knew. The official results actually had a mis-match in 2 areas that were matches on the private tests as they were able to exclude the mothers DNA

CSA have refunded me my maintenance today which they've done quite quickly, but I'm sure having an MP writing to the diredctor of the CSA may have helped speed up the process.

My heart goes out to you and your hubby and soon the waiting will be over and you can try and get on with your own lives
