  • Good luck with your new house:beer:

I'm getting fed up looking for a house. Each one I view has something wrong ie damp, hiding broken plaster under wallpaper etc.

The 2nd house I saw 2-3 months ago I should have bought as it was perfect, but I thought I could get it for maybe £93-95k (listed at £105k) it went a couple of days later for £99k.

I look on propertybee and see houses that have been on for several weeks with no offers and they are still not dropping the price. Maybe because I'm looking at around £100k people do not want to drop their prices?
There are many things I'd like to say to you, but I don't how...

    Hi,

I've been lurking around for a while, so thought I'd better chip in!
Currently have £45k saved, trouble is i'm on 17k per year, and single. I'm after a 2 bed house, but around here these cost £120-£160k, so absolutely no chance of getting a mortgage at the mo, looks like quite a few more years saving before I can get on the property ladder!.
Congrats to all those who have managed it, I keep reading all the sucesses on here, perhaps there is hope for me yet!!!

Having previously posted about buying my house last week I have been buying all my things. Having bought most of the furnature and Kitchen items from either an auction or John Lewis I am well on my way.

I would ensure when saving you have a budget of at least £6000 if you are buying from scratch. Its amazing though not unexpected how things add up.

Having quotes for wall ties replacements and how the electrics actually are today and tomorrow. Natwest just phoned and are sending out the 'official' offer today. Yay :)

Thank you, I can't stop smiling.

Only reason my solicitors were so quick is because they are my former employers so I was able to harrass them without them getting annoyed! the abbey were superfast in issuing our mortgage too which helped.
