Hi, I'm new to the thread.
I've had an offer accepted and the vendor has found a place which is a probate sale so a nice short chain.
At the moment just waiting for Abbey to come back and (hopefully) agree the mortgage and do the valuation. (I have a low LTV so it is supposed to get 'fast-tracked' - we will see.) Also getting my own survey done next week.
Once I have the mortgage offer and the surveys done OK, then I think I will give in notice on my rented place as I need to give 2 months.
Have told solicitors I want to exchange ASAP but have a gap before completion.
Then I need to do mega buying spree of sofas, washing machines, desks, tables, chairs, beds, pots and pans and plates and wardrobes and lamps and rugs and... oh, it makes my head hurt.0 -
and I do think getting excited looking at washing machines is a bit extreme, yes ;-)0

Oh, and I should have said I am a bit nervous because I got gazumpted back in Jan/Feb, and then when I recently applied for a mortgage i initially got turned down due to "bad credit" because of vodafone lying about me(!) but that now seems to be sorted...0

slopemaster we have today received our mortgage offer from abbey :j:j:j:j
All in all it took them 15 days from our initial application to issuing the mortgage, our LTV was 63% so we were fast tracked too.
Tbh we are so pleased that they acted so quickly, hopefully you will have a similar experience. Good luck!
Just to add which product did you go for (sorry to be nosy!) we went for the 10 yr fixed at 4.99%apr because we have no intention of moving anytime soon and wanted to fix for as long as poss.
CC debt at 8/7/13 - £12,186.17
Barclaycard £11,027.58
Halifax £1,158.59
5 year plan to live unsecured debt free and move home0 -

Patmoore, welcome to the club, good luck with your hunt and congratulations on the marriage :T
Cheers!! We spoke to our bank today and they gave us an idea of what we could get today mortgage-wise, helpful at least.
Went to all EAs and signed up on their systems and saw our first property. Viewing 6 next week. We are excited but realised it's going to be really hard work.0 -

Thanks for letting me know that, it looks hopeful.
My LTV is just below 60%. (Tho my income isnt massive)
Went for 3-yr fix as i want to stay flexible.
Rate just over 4%. Was going to be 3.99 but they put it up already!
However, with 'free' valuation and £250 cashback it comes to the same thing over the 3 yrs.0 -
