Good luck with the survey, ours was today and I have no idea how it went, nervewracking to say the least!

snowjoe. Can this be expected? The surveys all fine and valuation OK, be expected to be in 3 weeks? Hope so!0

Hey Folks!
My offer on a 2 bed terrace house, of 84k was accepted yesterday.
Have sorted out solicitor today, and informed EA.
It's a bit complicated, but it'll be in my name, however, my dad is actually purchasing it.
Now waiting for the funds to come through, as some are coming from the bank if they approve the loan. The only sticking point is ONE blemish on my dads credit report, which has now all been sorted but obviously stays on for so many yrs, so the loan request has got to get via the underwriters.
Am a bit worried and stressed. However, Dad is confident it won't prove a problem!0 -

Fingers crossed its ok, its a structural engineers report we are having done. We are aware that electrics and plumbing are rubbish and need re doing, valuation has already taken place by Abbey and it was valued at the price we offered. Just hoping that its not showing any signs of movement. It did subside and need underpinning when the stupid builders next door rupture the drainage system and flood the area!
Obv we don't have a chain and the property is currently empty so hopefully this is the missing piece of the jigsaw. Hoping for a reasonable gap between exchange and completion on the hope I can get in the property and start sorting it out.0 -
That's brilliant. Our survey/valuation has to be back to the bank by this time next week and if all gogogo as we have no chain and the house is an estate would you believe it would be possible to be moved in by mid July? The solicitors are on the case with searches etc..... Our tenancy will run out at the end of July so a 'change over period' would be preferable!
Any opinions welcome, thanks and all the best!0 -
suisidevw I think your timescales should be achievable. We are hoping to do the exact same thing, we are being evicted by 7th August and hoping to complete mid/end July.
Our mortgage offer should be issued the early part of next week and our vendors are moving into rented so no chain either. Our vendors solicitors are also issuing the contracts today and I know my solicitor will raise any enquiries almost immediately.
I hope yours goes through smoothly as well

i'm still looking! But only viewed one house in the last month and that was today.
The agent rang me at work and I thought oh why not! We didn't know a house number before going but i jotted a few sold prices down from nethouseprices before we went and luckily wrote down the right house.
We were in and out in 10 minutes. The house was bought for £150k (3 bed terrace with integral garage) in Feb this year. The vendor has put a cheap wood effect new kitchen units in the very small kitchen, painted the living room magnolia and put down new cheap looking carpets which we were told we could negotiaite for if we wanted them... the new price £170k!!! Zoopla values it at £150k.
The cracked tiles in the bathroom, stained lino, rusty shower and cheap doors remained. We were told an offer ' in the 150s' had been rejected this morning. Wow our mouths were wide open. Some people have such a nerve. Had to have a rant as i feel people like this are the reason that people like me in their 30s with professional jobs haven't been able to afford to buy a home to live in and enjoy.
Really cross now!0 -
