I spoke to someone called SID...
He put me on hold 3 times and each time said he would get back to me...
Yeah right..Pigs fly..
So if you get SID whilst phoning he will not process your order...
Laughable for a company like DELL..0 -
In tiny writing, as note 6, at the bottom of the ad - "Promotional offer on N02135 applies to a maximum of 1 order per customer". Telegraph 17/02/06 p21swapmeetpete wrote:

who told you that>??? My newspaper ad says 'Promotional offers apply to maximum order size of 5 systems'
and definitely nothing about 1 system. point 6 on mine says something about idc 03 2005 results???

In the last two days ive called them 6 times three times they took my no to call me back and didn't and the other 3 they put me on hold from 5-15 mins and then cut me off,now i never want to use em again,it's not acceptable.
I had to watch this again to cheer myself up lolWhat goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Seriously ticked off now.

Cut off more times than I care to remember by both Ireland and India centres. Called the ASA who tell me they have had loads of calls about this already and told me to call Trading Standards.
It's not even as if it's a one-off web misprice for goodness sake! THAT I would have taken in good grace but to advertise in several papers over a two day period and then not take orders is just not flaming on.Herman - MP for all!

Not sure if it is a bargain or not.
I want to use it for the internet and for e-mail and that is about it..
Anyway too late now Coz i have bought it...
Fingers up to DELL......Timewasting and cut me off the phone at least 4 times today...
I will never buy anything from them again...
If you've bought it you can still return it within 28days for any reason as per their policy. I saw the same model in Comet for £449 but with 512mb instead of 256mb in Tesco. If you tell them you can get it cheaper in Tesco they will price match and lower it by 10% of the difference as per the advertised policy. So you'd get the same machine for £376ish but with double the RAM. It only applies if Tesco (within 10miles of the Comet store) have any in stock though! Find a Tesco with one in stock, go to the Comet website and search for the nearest store to that one, then phone up the comet to check if they have it in stock as well! Then get down there and start haggling - don't forget if they sell you a long warranty by offering an extra discount on the laptop you can cancel within 45 days. Do the price match first though!
Good luck!
I'm glad I cancelled my Dell order yesterday from what I've been reading about their attitude! Booted up the Acer Travelmate I bought in Tesco and it seems fine. Ordered 512mb of extra mem from Crucial and will get a free USB memory stick too!0 -
very interesting clay... my ad has NO MENTION of that limitation at all
the IDC point is the final one on my ad. Guess theyd have trouble enforcing it with so many descrepancies
BTW my ad came from a london copy of Metro free newspaper.0 -
I haven't tried for one of these laptops, I don't see the point of spending £300 on a laptop without any capable graphics card. I could get one to do the same things for £200 on eBay, perhaps? This does seem a nice offer though, and from what I've read a very poor showing by Dell.0
