hmmmm this must be a new strategy coz they have just told me the same, that he will call me back in the next 5-10mins. that was after I made him feel rotten saying its the 8th time I have called (almost true as well too!).

whats my chances of actually finally getting this laptop eh.... hmmmm

just tried the number again & its says there now closed, that after they told me they close @ 9pm. im trying the 0870 353 3183 number now.

on the phone to the guy now & hes says the 40gb hard drive & 256 memoery are out of stock but he can sell me one with 60gb & 512 memory for £150 more..lol.... ive sent him off to his manager or im on hold & he will never return.......erm just been cut off.

Hi all, this is my first post but I just wanted to thank you all as I have secured the laptop for £299 and it's due to be delivered in the next 7 days.

I contacted dell on 0870 152 4699 - The general sales number, held for 30 mins, quoted the deal code, received the hard sales pitch for additional RAM etc, held out and said I couldn't afford it.

Order was confirmed and I was given an order number. Good luck to the rest of you.
