its funny how some succeed and some dont though dontcha think???

I gave up btw.... went home. its just not worth it. if I buy the online one thru quidco its only £20 more. but at the moment I am turned right off it by dells tactics

I agree, I guess I'm feeling lucky right now but Dell do seem to be employing some strange tactics so I wouldn't be suprised if the order was cancelled as someone mentioned earlier...

I'd double check that you have in fact got an order number(should be a 9 digit number). I thought i'd ordered one last night and was given what i thought an order number. Rang up today to double check it and found that the order number was bogus as was the name and extension number of the sales person.

Hi Jason, I also got the extension number of the sales person so I guess I'll have to try tommorow to ensure I haven't been fobbed off!

I have just received my second laptop I will be contacting dell on monday trying for a discount on it. I will update you then. Here's an earlier post where I managed to get an 15% additional discount on the first laptop.


Just of the phone to dell. I said I wanted to cancel as the laptop was too expensive. They offered me 10% off I said 15% please and she said yes.

4.5% off from quidco
15% off from dell

with 6 Cell 56Whr Primary Battery [add £11.75] upgrade

brings it all in at under £300

Bargain

Try it it may be worth while.

Does that mean you've already had a 15% discount on each one? Is it only after receiving delivery that you call them or does it work before? If they call your bluff do you have to pay to send it back?

Why not quote the Tesco 20% off laptops and ask them to match it!
