they will try and get you to upgrade this that and the other on the phone to boost the price (you may want a bigger screen but that is up to you)

stick to your guns, you only want the stated price and you are aware that it's 90 day collect and return warranty !!!

if they claim its a pricing error ask how as this was advertised yesterday at the same price and they have had 24 hours to amend the copy for the Adverts

  • Do you have a dell part code for this, they are normally listed next to the model on the adverts. We can then look it up on the website.

its the cheapest model on the website @ 339 but the newspaper ads say extra 40 discount off.... cant seem to be had online :(
  • i have just been on the phone and they have told me they are out of stock and said if i pay an extra £150 i will get this great machine. When i said i would just have the one that was advertised he said they were out of stock and they dont know when they would get more in. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he said they were all in a meeting because of all the complaints about this laptop. I said i would hang on the line till the meeting was over, he then said ok have a good evening and hang up on me.
    Great advert for Dell

N02135 is now working. But price comes to £339 (not £299) even after adding to basket.

    i'm fuming about this...

I've been on the phone for 20 minutes getting the hard sell and insisting I want the £299 laptop. I was told it wasn't wi fi and that would cost extra, but I pointed out it was. Then I was told that my son (who this is for) would not be allowed to use it at uni as the technology was too old and that I needed a much more expensive one, but I refused. I was then told to hold the phone while an email was sent to me to confirm that I understood I was buying an inferioir machine, and they cut me off.

I had never really believed that a big company like Dell could be so bad but now I've experienced it myself I will never attempt to deal with them again.

Right, now where do I start complaining to?

    Soo

Oh, and they had already taken all my details including phone number and address so I suppose I will be inundated with junk mail now.

  • Another of the same here - on the phone for ages, with the guy eventually trying to sell me the 3 year warranty with various upgrades thrown in; when it was clear that I wanted the £299 machine, he hung up.

Very disappointed, enough to make me register with these forums after lurking for yonks...
