hmmm that sucks. I was considering ringing as its 12mths int free too!

Sorry no scanner :( but it most definitely says 399 crossed out.... 299 inc. VAT & Handling & FREE Shipping. and the logo next to it says Includes £40 OFF + FREE Shipping. (which makes sense from the online price of 339 - £40 discount = 299 - online already has free shipping).

Typical of Dell really to advertise something and try to get out of it! Oh top of ad says offer due to end 17th Febuary too :S
  • thanks for that although if some does manage to scan it in that would be great as Im thinking of complaining to advertising standards council.

I have never ever received such bad service as today dell as a company are disgraceful if thats how they treat customers, if thats how imdiam call centers deal with people then the industries that outsource over there need to re-think costs against standards of service

  • Tried to order a Dell Inspiron 1300 three times yesterday (Thurs 16 Feb) as advertised in the Daily Express using the advertised 0870 number - laptop was for home use, E code for the order was NPUK5-N02135, this was on special offer which ends today (Fr 17 Feb).

On the first contact I used their ring-back service where they phone you back so you don't have to wait to long. Got as far as telephone number and name after they contacted me on ring-back, telling the lady exactly what I wanted, she came back with "I'll phone you back", I asked in how long, reply was "15-20 minutes", 40 minutes later I was still waiting.

Second telephone call was answered almost straight away, told the gentleman exactly what I wanted and at what price (was asked for the price in all instances). I was then asked did I have internet connection, I answered yes, was then told to order via the internet using the E code (Internet order is more expensive), operator then hung up.

Third contact, waited 22 mins using their 0870 number, gave laptop model , price and E code, was informed that the computer wouldn't be able to surf the internet, I said I understood everything that he was saying (knowing it was a sales pitch) he then hung up on me.

So much for Dell's customer service - it sucks !!!

Sounding alot more like a non-existent suck in. get you on the phone and try sell you something else, or if you push it just 'hang up' or 'lose you'.... :(
  • As advertised in today's Daily Star and Daily Mail, a competent basic laptop with wireless capability, except if yesterday is anything to go by they won't actually sell you one at this price. What happens is they try to sell you an upgrade and if you refuse they fob you off or disconnect you. Offer is not available online. If you fancy trying, do not use their 0870 number, use their landline number from saynoto0870 until 5.30pm, after that forget it!

Interesting that when you type in that PARTICULAR code NPUK5-N02135 the site brings up a "having technical difficulties" page... but other codes mysteriously work fine!

    "We are having technical difficulties

We're sorry but the Online Store is temporarily inaccessible. The Store is undergoing routine maintenance or may be experiencing unexpected technical problems. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience as we work to correct the situation. Check back with us shortly.

While the Store may be down, Dell is still open for business. Please call 0870 907 5818 to place your order or to inquire about a product of interest."

Someone's posted this offer on this board again today.

Dell need to be taken to the cleaners on this one. Also a while back in their newspaper ads they had the X51v handheld for £189 and it said to order online but it was nowhere to be found at that price... I thought about fighting for one but then decided I didn't need it.
The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster! :)
