Do I need the USB thingy, when I turned on my Dell today it said there are currently 2 wireless networks available, when I clicked on them it asked for a key?
Thanks
Would this be any use?

Err no. What has happened is that your wireless card has picked up two wireless networks operating locally. When you click on them Windows presumes you want to connect to them. However you need a key to access them. In this context a key is basically a secret code, rather than an object or device. As you shouldn't be trying to access these networks then you don't need to do anything.

Only if you have cable. It is NOT for a BT line.0 -
silly question I know
but if I buy one of these laptops and then buy the wifi router, I gues the wifi router gets pluged into the broadband part of my phone line (cant remember what the adapter is called), do I then need to plug anything in to this laptop?
also wouldyou say that £340 ish is still a good price for this laptop as I cant seem to get it for £299
thanks

If anyone still wants one at £299, this might be a way....
I'd sent an email complaint to dell a few days ago over the way I'd been treated, but did eventually manage to get mine ordered (typing this on it at the mo' - paid £380 for 15.4" screen + 3yrs at home service)... but I've had a reply today stating that due to the problems I've experienced, I can ring Valerie Greene on 0870 9075193 to get my order placed at the original £299 price. You'll probably need to explain how you've been treated over the last few days ;-)
good luck0 -
