  • Welcome to all the newbies. MFD & Emm - extra strong labour vibes for you both, your bubbas are obviously very comfy :D

I've had confirmation today that I can either carry over any holidays I don't use before mat leave till next year or be paid for them. I currently have 4 weeks to take and I am due in Aug. I am thinking of beginning my ML on 3rd Aug (due 4/5th) but taking the week before as hols, so last day in work would be 24th Jul. What do you think, am I leaving it too late. It's only a small company and I know they would be quite flexible if things were to change! I'm confused!

    Afternoon all

Welcome and congrats to Karen and Nicki (and anybody I may have missed or forgotten after reading the last 10 pages)

Had my 20 week scan today and all is well with the baby. My placenta though is lying low which basically seemed to mean its blocking babys exit route

Have been told not to worry about it yet and it will be checked at 29 weeks to see if it shifts. Anybody experience of this  really dont want another CS.

Decided to tell the radiographer I didnt want to know the sex of the baby, she very rudely snapped at me, she said she wasnt interested in looking at those parts of baby as she was too busy  , said she had more important parts of the baby to look at.

I have been under so much stress this week with DH disappearing on a bender, I may have looked like I was going to cry.

She spent the next 10 minutes trying to entice me into conversation, telling me what a healthy baby I had and stuff but had to say it upset me abit.

I think im way too sensitive/emotional at the minute.

On a good note, DH insisted on coming to the appointment. Turned up last night sober with chocs and the same empty promises, but I was too knackered to turn down the offer of dinner and sorting the kids, so he's bac but relegated to the settee for the time being.

Redmel Good luck with the kids and the pizza!!

Tia Good luck with the scan tomorrow.

Millies Mum, I know how useless men are, I could give classes on that subject. I find they respond better to directions and instructions :rotfl:

And lots of labour vibes to those still in need.

Whomever asked about Costco - baby stuff is not cheap in costco so don't join just for that!!
I go halves with my mum and I'm her "spouse" so get the "free" card

    :D

'Twas me! DH has a Costco rep coming to his work to see him about joining next week (I am guessing his company will pay the joining fee, although I'm not sure how these things work :o ) I think he will use the card mainly for office supplies and for buffet stuff for meetings/conferences, but won't bother going with him to "stock up" if it costs no less for baby stuff.

    Welcome to Newbie Mum-to-Be's too!!

Nice to see you posting MTW ;)

Apparently cosco do lovely giant cheesecakes... According to the stepMIL... They live near one in Liverpool... Think Makro is the midlands equivalent...

After all the talk about body pillows, thought I'd give mine another whirl last night... (Got it from linens direct for about £8 but I think the website is closed now) I'm sure my hip was aching more through sleeping with it... Or could of just been a bad night... Slept awfully, had to keep rolling over but it hurt no matter what side I lay on... Then hubby started talking to me when I got up for a wee and I woke up properly and couldn't drop back off again... So tired now... Roll on bed time!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    Random Question Ladies..
Anyone know how to cook Pork fillet? I got some on yellow sticker from tesco with todays date on it it just says "ideal for grilling or frying"
I was thinking I'd just pop it in the griddle pan like I do steak?

Helen congrats to you  How have you been feeling? I seem to be having two lunches a day - I am going to be massive and it will all just be fat! Plus I have this queasy feeling that comes and goes.

Is there anything that I should be doing at this point that could potentially save money later on? What sort of things should I be looking for? Or should I just wait until after my 12 week scan and then start in earnest?

I have no idea what is out there for pregnant women - someone mentioned the government gives £190 to assist pregnant women eat healthily - any ideas where I can find out more?
