I keep thinking I ought to start doing my hospital bag... but... I just feel like if it's too early yet... goodness knows why as I'm nearing 30 weeks!!!!!! I mean I'm nearly 3/4 of the way there... You'd have thought Little Miss Insanely Pre-Organised would have had this packed a month ago but nope... Can't quite get myself to do it... not yet... mental block I guess :)
My plan is to have one for me and one for Roo... We have plenty of luggage so will take what fits the best and then a spare holdall that folds really small for any extras :) (and a heap of plastic bags for the "in case" :)

I think most will borrow you a gown if you ask. I honestly can't remember if anything I wore got ruined?? I don't remember having to throw clothes away, so I'm guessing not.

Tine, I can't believe you haven't packed it already:)

But yes, it probably is about time, to make a start at least!

  • Which reminds me - if anyone else is like me and has had to buy nightwear for the occasion (I honestly can't remember the last time I wore any!) then I bought this nightie in peacocks the other day:

Although mine is grey. It buttons down so good if you are breastfeeding and it is surprisingly roomy. I would usually be a 14/16 in peacocks and I bought the 18/20 and there is bags of room, even with my mega-bump. I prob could have got away with buying my normal size.

And for £6 it is much better than the £20+ that Mothercare want for something similar.

good old peacocks! i might have to go and investigate, i want some cheap slippers to put in my bag. my nan bought me a similar nightie to that one in bhs in a size 22 which is huge at the top but veeeeeeeeery stretched over the bump, its not going to shrink overnight so i think i should get something more roomy

  • I bought some slippers too!! They were reduced to £2!

They are this kind of style (but not cow-print)

When I put them on they just make me and DH laugh...with my swollen ankles (one in particular doesn't look like it has an ankle bone in it any more) and the round toes I look like one of those baby dolls that I had when I was a kid!!

Thanks all for the advice regarding bags. I have thought about small trolley cases which we can use as hand luggage on flights, whereas normally I only take my handbag on. But, if we fly in the future we need to maximise our 10kg hand loggage allowance with twins on the way! Think it will be 2 x trolley cases for us!
