Ooops - I have been pondering where Bubbas snow suit is for a while now (not that I really think he will need it but DSS bought it for him so Bubba will come home in it) and then I couldn't find his lampshade...
...a quick search of the cupboard under the stairs has revealed another bag of baby stuff that needs ironing and sorting - I put it in there to hide it from MIL when she came to do the ironing. I wanted to do it myselfplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Hi mfd, yes been lurking since 13 weeks but honestly thought there was a problem with the meds I have been taking affecting baby. Have seen consultant and he has put our minds at rest. Want to get the 20w scan done, I know if he thought there was a problem he would of sent me sooner.
Hope you have a good birth x

I am so glad someone asked about labour bags. I was thinking about something like this:

But I am worried it won't be big enough, our hospital say that only small bags are needed as there isn't much storage space on the wards. So wondered about having a small holdall in the car for extras and gifts etc.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Mollie, thats my bag (in Red), i've got that bag with my stuff in and then the baby's stuff in a holdall, the plan is that I will send the holdall home with OH on my first night with my towel etc in and then the baby's stuff will fit in that bag and the nappies etc underneath the wheelie cot thing.
He will bring holdall back the day after to put any other stuff I have accumulated in, bounty bags etc, have told anyone visiting not to bring gifts unless they take them away with them again cos i can't be doing with having loads of stuff at the hospital (but its different with your first, I know)MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -
That is a gorgeous bag! However, it does look a little small. How about you lay out everything you need to pack & see how big the pile is?
Also how much use will you get out of it later? Once the baby arrives, travelling light is never an option again
I used a larger weekend bag I already had, but it was fabric so could fold up very small if it needed to be stored away. Inside I put a small fabric folding shopping bag, for any extra stuff. Also hospital wards (unless you are lucky enough to have a private room), have no storage other than a tall table/shelf/locker thing. Then the bounty lady comes & leaves you 2 full carrier bags of leaflets & freebies (mostly leaflets).
Personally I wouldn't buy a new bag just for the hospital. Beg or borrow a small weekend bag or trolley case, if you don't have one. And save your money to buy a gorgeous changing bag instead, which you'll be carting round with you every day for atleast the next year0 -
I used a large holdall both times, and am using a similar sized one this time! Although I don't bother having a separate bag for baby, I just chuck everything in together:)
I think that bag looks lovely molly, but perhaps a bit too small. unless you are intending to have take few different bags, for birthing, ward stay, and baby!

I saw that bag before I found out I was pregnant and wanted it then, but couldn't justify buying it as we had just bought new luggage. But they are the hard suitcase type bags that wont fold down. I can probably just borrow a bag from my sister instead and buy the Cath Kidston changing bag I saw in John lewis with the money I save

Molly - the bag is nice but it looks about the size of my handbag :rotfl:
sooz - that's a great idea about adding the small foldaway bag in for your extras, can't believe I never thought of that before
ETA Eek - Just noticed the price tag too0 -
i got a small holdall (bargain from tesco at just £3!) for the labour and baby stuff and using a overnight bag for all my stuff, toiletries coming home outfit etc. still unsure of what to wear when in labour, do all hospitals have gowns i can pinch or do i really have to ruin my stuff?Mummy to

Krystal - hugs! That is pants about hubby's work - hope all goes well!
You lot don't half chat! Sheeesh! LOL I go out for 4 hours and it takes me nearly an hour to catch up!!
I feel really tired - I went to lunch and then popped by tesco and got stuck in traffic thanks to 2 accidents on the dual carriage way - thankfully I had just stopped off for a drink and picked up some chocolate chip cookies so I didn't mind too much... we were sat so long the guy in front got his laptop out the boot and started working as we literately didn't move...
4 hours and I'm a waste of space... super...
