Well, DS2 is 1 in 10 as he has got chicken pox again!!! His neck is stiff and sore because his tonsils and glands are swollen. Poor wee lamb, he had a terrible time with the pox last time! But atleast it's nothing worse. Just to keep a close eye on him incase it changes (the rash).
My bump hurts as I had to carry him in and out of the hospital (car park is miles away). Getting some lunch now and hopefully can relax the rest of the day.
MFD, I dopn't think Conrad is chavvy, it's more preppy to be honest. And shhhh, Connie is my Dads horsees name! Wonder how your MIL could ie my boys names, Michael and Christopher... unless she went Mikie and Chrisie, in which case, I'd spill blood! :rotfl:0 -
Tia - do you need to see the doc about DS2 having chicken pox? It can be pretty dangerous if you catch it can't it?
Mmm - preppy!!
I am afraid that your boys would indeed be Mikie and Chrissie for MIL - we have a Joshie and a Petie!!
Got to love her though - she called me yesterday to see how I was and asked if I wanted her to cook our Sunday Lunch...then she said she will bring it round for us on a plate in case I don't fancy going out!!! Bless!
Have done all Bubbas ironing (probably the only time I will ever bother to iron most of his stuff) and my back is killing me - hubby will have to iron his own stuff!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
MFD, no I have had chicken pox before (plus if I hadn't I would have gotten it last time when both the kids had it) and never had shingles so I have antibodies and will be fine. Your MIL sounds nice, maybe I could forgve her making a hash of names
Atleast its better than mine saying 'Meichle' (mee-ck-ile) and calling me his 'Mither'.

Afternoon everyone.
Elle - Glad you had a nice time away. I really didn't know that about the gas and air. I am planning to hold off it as long as possible anyway, and only use it once the contractions become unbearable hopefully once fully dilated;)
I sent the kids to bed at 7.30 last night as they were really tired and grouchy. I did let them watch a dvd of cartoons though, with instructions to turn it off once it had finished and go straight to sleep. I then went and lay on my bed and fell straight to sleep! I woke up at 10pm to find dh climbing in next to me and we both went straight to sleep...neither of us have gone to bed that early in years!!
But today, we have finally built the drawers for the baby's room, so it is now completely finished...it looks amazing too. The boys loved helping to put all the clothes and blankets away in the drawers, whilst I sat there cringing, looking at all my neatly ironed and folded clothes being crumpled and stuffed higgledy piggledy in!! oh well! they felt important helping and I suppose that matters more than a few flat clothes.
MFD - I actually quite like Conrad, I think it is a nice name for baby, child and adult!!! I don't see it as 'chavvy' at all.
Mel xUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
mel, OH isn't completely sure (hence why I put "or something like that"
) and the book he'd need to refer to is on his desk at work.. "Work" still being a nasty word today and tomorrow whilst we're still on hols!
Glad your baby's room is doneI was stood in the doorway of what will be ours earlier and nearly cried. It's such a mess right now, but I'm going to make a start on it in a min.. it's got loads of clothes in that I need to sort and ebay. I intend to throw them all plus a clothes rail in my car then take them to my Mum's and set it all up in the spare room there until my next free weekend when I'll blitz them with my mum's help and get rid of everything. I need to then take photos of the furniture and futon in there then get it advertised and sold ASAP, then it can be used as more storage space for 4-6 weeks while the work is being done and then finally the baby's room can take shape, hopefully in June!! And breathe..
On the bright side, builder has just randomly turned up. He doesn't work weekends usually but he's come to sort everything now so we might have hot water some time soon!0 -

I found counting at the start of a contraction helped because I knew that when I got to a certain number it would start to ease off a little... Obviously, the longer it went on, the higher the number I went up to but it did help... I don't think I was coping very well with the pain before I started to count because I was asking for pain relief... But once I'd figured it out I was ok... When I moved to delivery suite and got the gas and air I kind of lost it a bit again but my sister then put the music on and I calmed down again... For me the worst pain was the crowning... I looked at my sister and said 'it's ripping me' and she just kind of looked at me in an encouraging way... But I did tear quite badly...
Thanks Kristaltips , so music and counting are two more tips to add to my list, thank you! Did the music interfere with the going inwards, or did it help to tune out the rest of the world? Was your sister a good doula?! I'm guessing it's your DH as your birthing partner this time, or are you going to have sis again?
Love Weezl x

It's just the way she says it. Firstly Mither is slang for Mother. Secondly she spits it out 'Mither' so it sounds like an insult! I really don't like my MIL though, can you tell?
Well DS2 now has loads of spots, DS1 is 'bored' and my ear is annoying me.0 -
I 'went into myself' during contractions with DS1. The whole world ceased to exist when it came on. I let it sweep over me, kept breathing in and out and it swept off again. Inbetween I fell asleep which was awesome! :rotfl: I hated people talking at me when I was busy!
When hell broke loose with DS2 again I just kept breathing in and out to stave off the panic and the fact that I was in shock too. But then in any situation I end up staying calm by just breathing.0
