Sami I was really glad you posted the detail of waters breaking, that sort of detail really helps me to get my head round stuff. I often find labour information really unhelpfully vague and that makes me more anxious! So thanks for doing that, not TMI at all, thank you lovely!
Another question for those who've been there before... what's the horridest part pain-wise, the very rapid, one contraction nearly on topof the next one, 7cm plus part, or transition, or actually pushing and tearing? I've heard different things from different people!
And another question would be, some people talk about it being better to 'go inwards' focus in on yourself and not have distractions, and concentrate on your cervix widening. Others talk about wanting to be distracted from what was going on. What worked for you guys?
I can't actually remember what was most painful  I think it was probably the early contractions for me when I was at home with OH (just after I'd been allowed to go home as "it will probably be 8-12hours before you deliver" - HA!!)
I was on all fours on our bed gripping the duvet arching my back like a cat with its heckles up screamingI was much calmer for the rest (when I had my mummy :happyhear) and was on gas n air.
the rest of birth as far as I can remember was more uncomfortable in certain parts than painful.
For this reason I am getting a bit panicky about not having my Mum at this birth She was the one that really helped me through it, I can't even remember hubby doing anything except hold my leg when I was pushing.
I think I'll ask my sister to come home for a few days (she did plan to with Chris but he arrived earlier than expected) so she can look after Chris. I'm confident I won't be in labour for very long considering I was only labouring about 4hrs with Chris so I suppose my dad or FIL/MIL/BIL could cope for that amount of time if needed0 -

Can't help with tens I am afraid (I secretly don't really think that they are worth it) Me too I hated mine!
Weezl - I am liking JonathanIt's one of those names which will work really well for child and man.Me too again
I would like some naming advice please (where is SB when I spill the beans)
One of the names that we keep coming back to is Conrad. We both really like it, it is exceedingly rare (800+ in the charts last year) but we both have issues with it for different reasons:
Hubby thinks it will be great as Bubba starts to grow up but can't see a baby with that name.
I (for some bizarre reason) have got it into my head that the name is a bit chavvy (makes no sense I know).
Also - MIL puts -ie on the end of everyones name...we were thinking that Connie is prob a bit of a no-no.
Thoughts please ladies.deff not Chavvy IMHO
If anyone Called my son Chrissy they would receive a slapor maybe just in a very stern voice "His name is CHRISTOPHER!!"
