jillie I got asked for my maternity exemption card on wednesday, I was 38+5 and have a huge bump and she still stood there waiting whilst I searched through all the carp in my purse, which I did e x t r e m e l y s l o w l y so she would end up with a queue, silly woman, doesn't she know not to wind the pregnant ladies up?
Ha, that's classic... Don't blame you for doing it slowly... I would of emptied my handbag all over the counter before remembering it was in my purse though ;)

I'm getting the sickies back... Apart from I'm OK unless I eat something... Felt sick as soon as I ate breakfast... It lasted till well past lunch time and I'm just starting to feel like I might be a bit peckish... Trouble is, if I eat now it's just going to be something snacky and I won't fancy anything for tea later... And I think Hubby's bringing home McD's... As long as Aimee gets over the mood she was in this morning and behaves herself!

Thought I'd post the link to this story, its very rare but it is VERY important to make sure you let doctors know if you have/get a cold sore around the time you give birth http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090227/tuk-mother-s-kiss-killed-newborn-tot-dba1618.html

    Hi Everyone

Well, I rang my GP to get an appt yesterday and they were closed so ended up going to OOH service. Both OH and I are prone to cold sores and unfortunately when I was younger I used to pick them, not wash me hands etc so ended up getting the virus 'down below'
Have a tiny blister 'down there' so thought I better get is checked out - waited 2.5hrs to be seen but was in with im for about 30mins! He rang the Gynae consultants and did loads of research on the web. Apparently, I'm OK because I am only 10wks but have to have swabs every week towards the end as if there is any sign of infection I will need a C section. Also, no treatment for now as it can be absorbed so I'm having to grin and bear it!!

Did everyone else get tested for Chlamydia on booking in? My MW does everyone's (got a text today to say it's normal).
God, I sound like a right scally talking about these STI's don't it? :o

Also, you guys seem to eat laods of McD's :rotfl: Luckily I'm not that fussed otherwise I'd be on one everyday

Where does the time go?

I think McD's is a staple pregnancy food... Not had one for a while myself though... Ate too many big macs and put myself off... Looking forward to having one tonight though... Wish I'd had enough bus fare to get a day ticket today, would of taken Aimee down to meet hubby and got it fresh instead of having to wait for him to bring it back... Probably have to microwave it when it gets here lol...

Hubby went to the bank today to put the mortgage money in and the systems were down... They said they would put it in when they were up and running again... That was 1pm and it's still not showing in there... Starting to get a bit worried now... The Direct debit will go out first thing Monday and I have an Asda shop coming tomorrow and there is not enough money for both in there...

At the end of every month I'm pratting around transferring money for mortgage - what a nightmare! OH insists on giving me a cheque for his half of the bills as he 'doesn't do internet banking' - still haven't got round to setting up the joint account so everything comes out of my account. My bank is miles away so end up putting cheque in one bank and then transferring fund to my account - fortunately, they do same day transfers for nothing now!

Peed off today - was told I could get paid for my 2 weeks annual leave that I have left (woohoo more for the baby fund!) But no, have to take it or lose it!
So gota take at least half before March, get paid for some and then carry some over. Was hpping to get paid for it or carry it all over - but then that means I would have 8weeks holiday next year, would have been great to tag onto the end of mat leave!

Hi there! I got my form filled in by midwife when I went for my booking in appointment (when I was about 10 weeks), she then sent it off and I got the card in the post about 2 weeks later.

In my area they only test for chlamydia if under 25 - silly really should test everyone. However they routinely test when they do a smear so it would get picked up in that.
