Hi all. Just discovered this as I've not been on MSE for ages!

Enroled on DB123 (You and your money: Personal finance in context) which begings on 2nd May.
I'm looking to do an MBA (Hons) in Business Studies (possibly with Economics - But we'll see later!!)
How are you all doing with your study, and is anyone else enroled on (or completed) DB123?
I posted a seperate link on the subject before I saw this thread !

Wehey - Good to hear that I'm not the only one!
Apparently it's an enjoyable course, so I'm looking forward to getting started.
Have you done any previous study and what are you aiming for?John

Is anyone else (maybe specifically W100 people) finding that as soon as they move on a couple of units, the previous stuff goes pretty much out of their head? I'm doing fine with my reading, understanding it all, making notes and getting quite good TMA results, but I don't feel I'm retaining the info as well as I'd like.
For instance, in the recent unit on discretion, it said "as you will recall from Unit 4....." and went on to mention us having studied Equity. I had only a vague memory of having done so, and struggled to recall anything at all without revisiting the chapter.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

Just a thought for anyone starting OU now or in the last month or so, wait until Sept for applying for the NUS card, think its £10.00, but I covered that back in 2 weeks,
The NUS year starts Sept, so anyone applying now will only get the card to last till Sept.

I'm always doing that. It's fine if you don't have an exam at the end of your course. Don't worry about it, when you start your next course bits will come back to you but most importantly you'll feel comfortable with the new course contents having sone W100.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -

ME TOO!! I tried to go back and look at it again, and ended up getting less done.... so I've taken to not going back and cracking on with the unit anyway. But I'm pleased I'm not the only one....:rolleyes:Now Mrs! Still mum though....Holiday 2013January - DubaiAugust - Disney World & New York0 -

It's good to hear it's not just me.
How are the other W100-ers doing with their TMAs? I seem to be scoring progressively lower on each one - 80, 76, and 72 for the last one.Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

Hi Misty - had my TMA back a few days ago, your marks are really good and consistent. Ive had 84%, 66% and 70% - I am pleased with them overall but annoyed with myself for the second one as I didnt leave myself enough time!
Have you started the 4th one yet? Ive got a little bit more of the unit to finish so will hopefully be able to make a start on Tuesday ish! x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000
