Have you just completed your degree? Congratulations if so!
I haveI got a First!! (Sorry...smug moment!) My degree was actually awarded to me Friday evening, & the diploma supplement to prove it could be downloaded straight away. They've really sped up their rattification and conferment process this year, so it's looking good for next summer for you.
Good luck with the rest of your studiesDS - 08/15

Aw, thanks so much LolaIt all seems a bit anticlimatic now, specially since my graduation isn't until October. But yes, I'm sure in a few weeks time once it's all properly sunk in I'll be very proud. It's more a mixture of confusion and relief at the moment!

I'm studying with the Open University for various reasons and I need to choose between a Biology degree and a Computing, IT & Statistics degree. I am unsure as to what I want to do in the future so I was wondering which degree you think would have better job prospects? Thanks0

That really does entirely depend on what you want to do. Also, whilst you may be more than academically capable of achieiving a degree in either subject, motivation becomes a massive factor whilst studying with the OU (especially at level 3, which effects your classification the most!). I would always advise someone to study something they think will sustain their interest, as wanting to do the degree is half the battle.
I'd say before trying to get hold of an OU educational advisor, have a look at the National Careers Service and Prospects for information on careers in your chosen field. NCS also have a freephone careers service, so you could even talk to someone if you found all the info a bit daunting. The links below should take you to the relevant page - I hope this helps a bit

Hello everyone :hello: Just wanted to jump in here to say that I finished my last OU module towards my BA Hons English Language & Literature in June, got my results last Thursday and within an hour was offered a 2.1!!
:D:D I've been studying part time for 6 years tackling one 60-credit module per year as well as working full time, raising a family and caring for my elderly mother. I left school in the 1970s after O-levels and went straight out to work. Doing A-levels and going to Uni wasn't the default option that it seems to be these days. The OU was my way of escaping from everyday pressures, getting guaranteed "me time" doing something that I love and proving to no-one but myself that I could do it. The feeling I got the other day when I was told my class of degree was overwhelming, like nothing on earth and it made the last 6 years totally worthwhile. I've been on Cloud Nine ever since!
:D:D I have my degree ceremony in September, my whole family are going to be there and I just know I'm going to blub!
So for those of you wondering whether or not to jump in my advice would be Just Do It! The rewards are tremendouos£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

Ah Hezza that's lovely
congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself. I'm studying the same degree as you- I am at the moment preparing for my EMA on AA100 which is my first module. TMA07 which I have just submitted (a month early get me haha- even my tutor was surprised!) was a reflective one in which I reflected I was too hard on myself and I'm throwing myself headlong into this EMA and getting very stressed so it's nice to know there is light at the end of the (very, very long) tunnel and it is possible to finish!!

Had to make the difficult decision to not study in October.
Too ill atm and not knowing if / when this is going to be sorted, I wasn't left with that much of a choice.

Really sorry to hear that Indie, but if you're too ill to be able to properly dedicate yourself to your studies as much as you'd like to, it sounds like the right decision even if it is frustrating.
Just checking, you're not an English transitional student are you? Because if so you need to commence a module that counts towards your declared qualification once every academic year. What they don't tell you is that (last time I checked), this meant you could register and then withdraw the day after the module started, and this would still count! If you're not transitional or living outside of England then this will be completely irrelevent and you can ignore me
