Does anyone know if student finance is available for Access Modules?I'm thinking of doing People, work and society (Y032) and was hoping to get funding for it. Also, has anyone done this module and how did they find it.

Waving hello. I have registered for a Open BA HONS Degree just waiting for student finance, anyone know how long SF take after you submit the application online? I haven't sent birth certificate or anything when do I need to do this?

*waves back* :) welcome to the Open programme SavingPixie :) What have you chosen as your first module?

I have registered on SH804 this year - towards the postgrad diploma in science and society (and maybe the MSc sci-soc before it is withdrawn - but that would involve me registering on the MSc science project module next year, which wouldn't be so scary if I didn't work in the science faculty  :rotfl::rotfl:)

    Hi all :)

been ages since I posted in here - I'm now 3 modules from my BA (Hons) business...crazy! Glad to see everyone is doing well, congrats for those who have graduated, and good luck to the newbies - it is hard but it is worth it.

I'll update once I know if I've been accepted onto B201 (my last level 2 course) for an Oct 14 start, then its just the two level 3 courses and I get to wear a silly hat!

    Hey!!

Hopefully aslong as my student loan sorts itself out i'll be doing E111 which is Supporting learning in primary schools! I want to do teaching in a primary school and there isn't one specific to it. So thought i'd do the modules instead but work for a degree so I can do my PGCE after.
I can not wait to get started but bet I wont be saying that during doing it all ha ha . How have you found OU? xx

Hia, Im just about to sign up for my OU course. Waiting until i can register for mySQA so i can find out where i will be starting as i almost completed year 1 of uni a few years back. Im looking to finish social sciences hoping to major in politics and history then do a post grad into teaching.
I've also signed up for and will be paying for myself An C!rsa Inntrigidh with the Highland University so i can learn gaelic and then hopefully walk out of my current job right into a gaelic teaching job. That is the plan!
Im also aiming ofr 4years and under for my open uni degree, hopefully i have enough credits to cover year one.

a lot of hopefully's from me hehehe

ALso does anyone know if we can apply for things like NUS cards? Is it possible to get a matriculation card for a local uni/college to use their library?

    Hi Lola
You can apply for an NUS card and if you join the OU library online they send you a card which will permit you to use the library facilities at your local uni or college. Hope that helps :)
