Still plenty of irons in Plymouth today but no ironing boards, not even rockpeblar's dented one!
Hope the irons are better than the box's flimsy cardboard carrying handle, it broke before getting 10 yards!!rockpeblar wrote:Plenty of irons and boards left in store. Picked up one of each, got them home only to find the board has been bashed and subsequently has a big dip on one side. Going back later for an exchange !!!0 -
Got my iron today and was really pleased to get the last ironing board as well...until I unpacked the board and realised there was no plug and no cord holding thingy. Now know why it was left in the shop.Didn't think to check before I bought it obviously not as worldly wise as some people.Just want to know if this has happened to anyone else and if so,did you manage to get the plug later. taHe who smiles rather than rages is always

I finally made up my mind and bought the Aldi one. Mainly because the store is around the corner from me and if i needed to refund it would be quicker. I have used it and am very pleased with it so far. There were lots of ironing boards and irons left in the store.“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Just completed an ironing session using the Aldi iron and ironing board. I found that both were a pleasure to use - love the high, well made ironing board and the iron was excellent particularly for my ultra king sized dry cotton sheets and pillow cases.0

Hi
Have been looking around for a cheap way to buy deionised/distilled water (any ideas anyone? Wilko's do a litre in their carcare area for 50p) but have found this post on the JOhn Lewis website
What type of water should I use in my iron?
Most irons are specifically designed to use tap water since their anti-scale features clean the water as a matter of course. Caution: you could actually damage your iron by using pure distilled water, scented or softened water because these types of liquids contain mineral elements that become concentrated when heated, causing spitting, brown staining or premature wear on your appliance.
Help and advice please. Do i buy water or leave it to the mercy of out hard water
