Morning All,
Well i had a cracking weekend. Cooked the roast pork dinner on Fri and was delish. Hockey on Sat was a rousing success with us winning the league so it's the premiership for us next season!YAY! Went out for a lovely meal with OH on Sat night and he surprised me with a lovely bunch of flowers despite both deciding we wouldn't do gifts. Sunday was watching OH play hockey as my game was cancelled, OH's team won (OH scoring winning goal!!)*beams with pride*:D
And to top it off last night I went out with girls from hockey and a really good time with A LOT of laughter.:j
Sooo feeling sleepy today in the office. OS wise well it was toast for brekkie and HM soup and sandwich for lunch. Tea is butterflied pork steak with sweet potato wedges and veg.:A
HUGS to all today, not sure what went on yesterday but I LOVE IT HERE, please don't change it!!!
Rainy and miserable here although a lot milder. Means I can turn heating right down. Ironing tonight and that's about it.
Halight - Sorry to hear about your JSA news. These people are meant to help! What would they do if they were in your position??
Anyway very long post, sorry, off to read the rest.
p.s Better performance by the Scots on Sat, hope we can beat Italy in a fortnight!:rotfl:Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -

There are a number on the cooking thread, Using up stale bread I love this one, Joey's Bread Pudding as well. I do add more cinnamon and nutmeg than is called for and let it sit for at least a half hour before baking. I think it's more moist and flavourful that way. Sometimes I half the recipe, other times I put it in smaller pans and freeze one before baking. Adding some fruit makes a nice change also, raisings, tinned peaches well drained etc HTH
wow have just looked online, and they look great!!!! i feel me popping into town on the way home for some eggs tonight as the Joey's recepie sounds delish!!!!!
thank you for that, i have made it in the past and was sorely disapointed, so hopefully that won't happen again...

Morning everyone! how are you all today?
It's a dreich day here in the Hebrides. It's windy and raining that fine smirry rain (you know, it's a fine drizzle, but get's you soaked through  )
I'm on a couple of days off this week - got the significant birthday tomorrow  - the one with a 4 in it! According to friends over the weekend, 40 is the new 30......
DH is away all week with work! Perfect timing or what?! I got his present yesterday, it's a lovely silver and mother of pearl pendant and earrings set. I also got a bottle of perfume - Ghost Deep Night which I love, so I'm a happy bunny really, even if he is away all week
Did a couple of loads of washing, but no point in hanging them outside - they'll end up wetter than they came out of the machine. Did the recycling this morning, so that's some clutter out of the kitchen.
Hope the rest of the day goes well for everyone - have a good one!:j0 -

aye!!!!
(not that i'm a regular poster, but i love all of the advice and support that can be found on this board)

I'm all for letting it go too but only after I have defended myself here. She said that I abhor bullying but that what I said was in her opinion a form of bullying. Maybe Donnygal could clear up exactly what she DID mean.
While I'm here I just want to wish TRU good luck for her test results.Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0 -

Hi everyone. Very late start for me because DH has been at home all morning, working on quotes while, at the same time, going through all his paperwork and running every bit of it past me to decide whether to shred, recycle, keep or act on. So I have been contantly interrupted and have just volunteered him to go to DS2's earlier than planned to help him with his fence panels. Peace at last! Now I can type up his quotes and invoices without waiting for 'Could you just.......'
I hope everyone who is job-hunting has some luck today, and good luck, also, to all those fighting with jobcentres. It must be very difficult and frustrating.
Dinner tonight is stew with dumplings, already prepped, so it will cook itself this afternoon while I catch up on my own work.
The weather is gorgeous and I have a line full of towels and tea towels blowing in the breeze with the sun shining on it! I love days like this. I just hpope everyone is having the same weather and that it lasts a long long time!
Smoky - I'm so glad you're feeling better now.
I just have to walk up to the post office to post some letters now.
See you all later.

Morning everyone
I am feeling a bit sad that after yesterdays misunderstandings the Daily thread has gone quiet again. This happened last time people started panic-ing about whether they were OS enough. All I want to say is that everyone is welcome on this board, with all or any opinions. We may not all agree, and we can get a bit protective over posters having a bad time, but I would stil hope we could embrace and accept any point of view on here. As for me, well, we all know I talk a lot, but I do try and post something OS in every post, even if its just about what is for dinner!
So please, everyone who is MIA today for whatever reason - do come on back. Of course, it might just be that all the mums are swamped being mums as it's half term and THEN won't I look silly? *giggles*
Well I spoke to Tristan last night for a few hours. True to form he got mad over nothing and yelled at me for about 10 mins (well, typed in capitals as he wasn't up to talking) but he soon apologised for being an @ss and we were able to talk. Unfortunatly it wasn't great - he is very weak and feeling really bad and I was glad we weren't on mic or cam as I spent most of it in tears. He seemed really down and I know he is in pain and that makes me hurt too.
So - onto other things. Well I baked the rock buns and have just eaten one for breakfast and they are delicious. (She says modestly) The stuffed turkey leg went down well too. Tonight is mince night - I am leaning towards bolognaise. Safe but always delicious I think and the WM is on and I can smell fresh bread so sandwiches for lunch methinks.
Thinking of everyone today and sending lots of love to those who need them. Moggins and Sybil and Penpin and anyone else I haven't mentioned, big hugs to you.
Remember - you can never tell someone you love them too many times, (in my humble opinion) so tell someone today!
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
Morning all...............Just...((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) if you need one..............
Late this morning, I had to clean up, the apartment was to say the least dusty........For a while now I have noticed a black mark appearing by the front door, as I was cleaning the carpet with the dyson I noticed the same sort of mark in the bedroom doorway and also by the airing cupboard door....I have tried using washing up liquid and also carpet shampoo but nothing seems to move it.......its upsetting beacuse the carpet was expensive when we moved in 2 years ago and as the same carpet is fitted throughout we cannot have new carpet laid every 2 years...........I am seriously considering having the hall carpet taken up and heavy duty vinyl put down.....but I am still lefy with the problem in the bedroom and by the airing cupboard which is off the sitting room. Its not so bad there as by the front door.
Not a lot OS wise going on here today. Hopefully will get OH out for a walk after lunch. I did ring the hospital apparently they are waiting for the written report before sending out another appointment......at the rate we are going it will be 12 months sincve the problem started before we get any answers, in the meantime both of us are having to suffer............
Corned beef salad and jackets tonight with the rest of my friend cheese cake for afters......a need to make another loaf and a batch of scones, maybe when we get back fro our walk.
We retired to bed at 9.30pm last night and read, nothing on TV.....I had a reasonable night, woke about 3.30am, turned over and went back to sleep till just after 8am.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
