Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 15th February. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread that we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we have achieved already. Everyone is welcome so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well”, type start does just as well.
Morning. Monday of half term here. I have the week off, although I have a few commitments all the same. Weather looks boring with no sun, no rain and mild temperatures.
Nothing much planned for the week except some painting and tidying the gardens.
Kids have work all week, so Dad's taxi will be in operation.
Have a nice day everyone

Morning N9eav & all to follow
Good grief - where on earth is everyone??? I can't believe there's just your post at 7 & nothing else??
Edit to say morning Halight & good luck at the jobcentre, I've only had to experience it once - and unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience. Lots of chavs hanging around outside, staff look at you as though you're something on the bottom of their shoe &, as you say, a general "couldn't give a monkey's-ness" whether they sort anything out for you... (I know there are good staff too - I just never came across them!)
Monday morning again - off to placement/work shortly, meetings all day, so it will be gone before I know it.
Must make a quick packed-lunch to eat at some point while travelling from one place to another...
Washing drying all over the house currently & plenty more to get done -it's amazing what you find in the kids' rooms....
(((((((((hugs)))))))))) to all those having tough times.
Have a good day all.

Morning all!
Boy! Busy day today: lots of washing to do, got a batch of soup in the SC, going to tidy and clean my bedroom, have to do some singing practice, go to the gym, send out rehearsal notes from last night and go to rehearsals.
The play's in a week :eek::eek: I'm excited, but sooo scared, it never feels like you'll be ready in time!!
*huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugs* to anybody who needs one.

Morning All
Let's leave yesterday's mischief behind us, and move on, while I sympathize with those wishing for a "pure" OS thread, there are many more of us who like it the way it is, maybe a "pure" OS thread is made available for them, and leave us as we are. Yes I did say mischief, for as the comment was probably made without malice, making it to one of the more vulnerable of our "family" is IMHO a form of bullying, which I know the person making it abhors.
The Beef Burg. turned out super, also made some Potato au Gratin to go with it to match the M&S meal someone bought, thanks for the idea. Today a load of washing will go on as the sun is out. We need to go and buy some paint to do our white balustrades, so at some point will go paint hunting. Made a dint in the tapestry while watching TV last night, and still sorting HDD out. Copied many times as backup and need to just amalgamate it into one master file. The rest depends on the weather.
(((hugs))) as needed, take care all.

Morning All
Completely missed the thread yesterday so (((hugs))) to anyone who needs one.
Had a good day in London, Museum was ok but finished at 1666 - was interesting though. Had lunch at at cheap little italian in Drury Lane so MSE wasnt completely out of the window. However just had to have a little look in paperchase and came out with a new notebook and a card.
Today we all have dentist checkup this morning. Our dentist is miles away but we like him, is just down the road from Adventure Island so have some tesco vouchers so off for a free trip there. Luckily is quite mild today.
Have to admit probablyy KFC for dinner tonight so very little OS today - however I promise faithfully that I will make up for it tomorrow.

Oh and Halight - good luck for today that is terrible.0 -
Good morning, kids are off school but I am at work today, so just going to make some soup for their lunch. i have a son who could eat for Scotland without ever being full up!
I got lovely valentine flowers yesterday......reduced in Tesco ( I discovered this last year) a £25 bunch for £3.62 and a £20 bunch was down to £2.50 but went through till at 62p! They are lovely but so not worth their original price! I think it's quite shocking that people would actually pay that!........although maybe that is why so many bunches were left!!
i have a wash on & will chance putting it out, it looks cloudy but there's a fair old wind!
i hope you enjoy your day, Mx0 -
Good morning everybody.....I was as blue as blue could be yesterday, today, I waken at 7.30 ( Usually waken around 5AM)
TODAY I AM FULL OF THE JOY OF SPRING??????????? I had better not knock it.
First coffee going down a treat, I will check back later after brain has been engaged, and stomach has been stoked.........Today, my BEST is good enough.0 -
Good morning everyone, very dry and blowy here.I think all my washing will dry today.I hate the clothes dryer up.
Husband back to work today,so I'll be able to tidy up and it'll stay that way,at least till he gets back in.
Nothing much to do but general cleaning.Oh and to ring Virgin mobile for a new sim,The last one they sent me,I put in my phone and now I keep getting phone calls and texts from debt agencies for some man down south.I've tried reasoning with them to stop phoning but they say they won't speak to me as it's nothing to do with me.You just can't win.Obviously someone has been playing silly !!!!!!s.
Halight. I hope you get things sorted out.Good luck on your job hunting.
To everyone have a good day.I hope the weather is as nice as it is here.
(((hugs))) to all who need them.
Take care...........0 -
First day of school hols, first day of OH new job, he went off with a packed lunch like a little boy on his first day at school!
Chores for today:- clean the bin (yuk!),
- Clean spare room (in-laws coming later in the week)
- Clean Kitchen
- Collect parcel from PO
- Get passport piccy for ED done
Also promised to take ED ice-skating but haven't booked the tickets yet, I'll have to phone them later on and go this pm. Also want to make a start on the cutting out the material for their skirts, spent ages yesterday making a pattern, I've washed the material and its dry now so will do that later I think..... YD is going to nursery today especially as they have a visitor today from a nutrionist to talk to the kids about healthy eating, also because I've already paid for it and she gets fed!!!!;)
Food-wise today is quite easy, pasta carbonara with yesterdays leftover, lunch...... dunno yet, but its just ED and I so probably soup for me and cheese sandwich for her.
Hope everyone is having a good day, as Sqiggly Diddly said its very quiet here compared to other days, all the people who have been up at crack of dawn lately are obviously having a well deserved lie in! Check in later on, bye.0 -
