Don't be! You can either be down, because you can't spend what you want to, or you can treat it as a challenge......I prefer the latter
It's turned into something of a hobby for meProud to be dealing with my debts :T

Would obsession be classed as 'I'm not paying 37p a kilo for a swede in here, it's 36p over the road'?
If so, too late. I'm already there :rotfl:Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

((((((((Diva)))))))) ((((((((((Tristan))))))))))) continued gentle hugs, prayers and good wishes for you both.
Welcome Lornameg. Your post wasn't too long at all and a wonderful introduction of yourself. Thanks for that
Hester Positive thoughts and prayers for your DD and all your family. I hope you DD is soon on the mend.
Tea ended up being jacket potatoes with beans, cheese and/or tuna and bubble and squeak. DH skipped the tuna part, his loss.
I made 3 large portions of chicken noodle soup with the stock from yesterday and they're in the freezer. I also slowly simmered some pork shoulder til it was done. It has been sliced thinly for pork with plum and ginger sauce for tomorrow's tea. I have a batch of ginger crystallizing (I hope) in the SC. First time I've tried it and I'm hoping it comes out well.
The flat is tidied, washing up from dinner finished with a shiny kitchen. I still need to hoover but I'm sure it will keep until tomorrow.
Heading off to have a cup of herbal tea before bed. Wishes for everyone to have restorative and peaceful sleep tonight.
With warm thoughts and many gentle hugs,
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

I have now set myself a challenge with Mr A - to see how much of my money I can escape with each time I go in there AND how many real bargains I can find for what I do spend ! Even the checkout girls do a 'double turn' at how much I get for the price I pay.
I've found the best way is to be flexible in what I buy bearing in mind what I need and what's in season; stop being a creature of habit - look for the best value each time (especially where bread is concerned!); look to the bottom shelves for crafty hidden bargains!; AND check price per kg/100g etc on the shelf labels before putting anything in the trolley! PLUS always remember that not all 'special offers' are what they seem.
Mr A wants my money - but he's gonna have to fight me for it :rotfl:!0 -
Well look at me... All that fuss and not a single Old Style thing posted all day.
In between spending too much time on here I managed to clear some of the raised beds at the side of the garden. The children were away all day so it was just me and the birds in the garden. Bliss.
I had to strip the beds today so tommorrow will be spent ironing but I have a few things taped to watch so not too much of a chore.
Tea tonight was a new recipe for pork Char Sui which went down very well but I made far too much so I shall have to find some room in the freezer somewhere.
Sleep well everyone and I hope that for all those who are having a hard time, things get better soon. xxxLife is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0
