Morning all!
Hugs to everyone and sick bags to those who need them.
I was up early enough to take DD to school for her trip away - she went bye mum and got on the bus - I was going to sneak off but as all the other mum's were waiting for them to go thought I'd better stay :rotfl:. Those teachers must need a medal. One child was already feeling sick and they had only come about 3 miles from the next village!!! I went through the eBay bag for clothes for her and will just bin them tomorrow when she comes back - her joggers almost reached her ankles :rotfl:
It will be very quiet here tonight - OH and I were going to go out for a meal but have decided on Indian takeaway as neither of us can be bothered to drive - how bad is that!!! We don't get much chance to go out together as we live miles away from family (as my mother mentions at least once a week) but as it's a school night we'll settle for a night in.
I asked OH what he's going to do if he gets offered this job he's going for and he said talk to me - so ok what are you going to say? - I'll ask you what we should do.............. no help there then :rotfl:.
Having hair cut this afternoon and have to look in the tiny dress shop as my friend's daughter gets married next Saturday and she still has nothing to wear :rotfl: and her daughter expected her to drop everything this weekend and deliver her stuff and rabbits to Aldershot when she's supposed to be making the cake - not sure if they're talking again yet.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Great thread/subforum!!!
I am wondering if anyone can give me any inspiration for a present for a friend. She is a first time mother, aged 33 and currently on maternity leave. In the past I have bought (in my non MSE days) hadnbags, jewellery, books, make up bags and usually I spend £15, less if I can. Very much into looking nice and now is very much into her DS, who is gorgeous. Want to buy a present for HER and not for the baby - if you know what I mean!!
I do have an advantage card, but not sure how many points (can you check online?).....
Thank you in advance.
Hi
Just a thought, you should be able to check ur Boots points online, or if you go in store and ur store has the machine you can check there and there might be vouchers as well.
I would suggest some nice pampering products, I personally love the Boots Natural collections, there usually on 3 4 2, and are between £2 and £3 each. I know after I had dd, my Body Shop treats became few and far between, it was whatever went in the trolley.

My little lady isn't well, she started being sick at around 5pm tonight and I had to call the doctor just before 7pm cause she was that bad, have finally got her settled into bed but I imagine it will be a long night poor little thing. Doc said she has gastreoenteritus? can't spell it but I know it can be very nastyshe is too young to understand so gets herself really worked up cause she is out of control
Hope dd goes on ok, and she recovers quickly, apparently its doing the rounds, I came down with it Tuesday ngt, and after camping out in bathrm, rang gp, got given anti sickness tablets and imoden for the other end!! but got told to be on bed rest, as I need a clear 24/48hrs b4 I can become a member of society again!!
My poor mum, think tues ngt she had no sleep, she was to busy running around after me, she realised I was ill, I hadnt been online since Tuesday.
After unvoluntry fasting........a piece of dry toast as never tasted so good.

Hello all, I've been out this morning delivering the wedding invites that I made over the last 2 nights. So with the order I made last week and delivered on Monday I've made £75
And I should get a bit more work next week, fingers crossed
So sorry to hear of poorly children Rusty, PLM... hope all are bouncing about again very soon. Clearing up sick is the worst thing isn't it?
mum2one - good to see you back, hope you're feeling much better
scattymam - glad to hear your little one is back to nursery, hope her day goes ok.
goochie - so sorry to hear your news, make sure you do something lovely for you today - chocolate ALWAYS works for me
Paddington - I love your blog, it's fab :T I too would think about selling some of your paper stash. I've sold lots of part packs on ebay (10, 15, 20 sheets a time) and have bought a few too.
sylphraven - love the sound of your folder, will you post some pics somewhere when you've decorated it so we can nick your ideas, ta
Big hello to anyone new, I'm pretty new to this thread and have found everyone to be fantastically lovely and helpful and... a bit mad... which is great as I am a bit mad too
I am very happy today as my house is so tidy after me dashing round like a loony yesterday getting ready for DS1's friend to come round to play last night with his mum and sister. Was the first time they had been round and wanted to make a good first impression. Hope my efforts worked! All I really need to do housework wise today is washing - 2 loads, 2nd one in the machine now. Hope to be able to sit down and relax tonight, maybe start thinking about Mother's Day card and pressie...? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
mum2one - When I had gastro..all I wanted desperately was a glass of ice cold blackcurrant....mmm I think I hallucinated about it - couldn't even keep water down so I'm quite convinced I was badly dehydrated. Know what you mean about dry toast, my first meal (xmas eve 07) was a plain jacket potato, boy do I know how to celebrate xmas!!:D hope you are feeling better now
rainmac - Mad!??! us!?!?NEVER!!I also need an inventive mothers day gift to go with chanel dry oil body spray and journal jar. something special is needed this year
[STRIKE]I [/STRIKE]Mum also got Qype voucher today:T
One thing with any of your vouchers, don't hold on to them too long girlies, you never know who will be going bust next unforunately these days

Thanks for the idea about putting papers on ebay - may well do so as there are some of the dovecraft ones that I know I'll never use. Have a huge pile of clothes to do first as they are taking up so much room. I'm fed up looking at them but don't want to take them to the charity shop as I need to increase my cash pot
.
I did put several bags out with the recycling as they collect for the Salvation Army when they do the paper and glass collections.
I'm hoping that the school will have an Easter Fayre as I've got a bag of handbags that could do with a new home as well.
I'm hoping to enjoy my takeaway tonight - don't want to join the gastro gang though - hope they are all feeling better today - the last time I had anything close was on holiday a few years ago - OH and I both had it (separately fortunately) but DD was full of beans - I think she must have tin guts as my dad would have said :rotfl:.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Thanks Jamtart, Rainmac and Skiergirl (and others that I probably missed) for your good wishes - getting information on Gran at the moment is difficult as none of us live anywhere near, but I don't think she needs an op (hairline fracture), they have said she will have to stay in hospital for at least a week (she's never had to stay in hospital before) and I know she will be worried about Grandad as he is quite frail (they are not in a care home, they still have their own home). Hopefully one of my uncles will get down there today although apparently the hospital have said not to come as they have C-Diff at the hospital  and it is very infectious (I am going to look into that in a minute, cos not sure).
Anyhoo, boy can I SHOP - bought a skirt, 2 tops, 2 blouses (only went to get the skirt for a wedding), then I popped into Boots and the Clarins lady told me that they were giving £10 worth of points with 3 purchases and triple points day, so I obliged there as well :rotfl: , (I have never worn make up and been thinking for ages that I should start wearing some as I am getting old and wrinkly) then went to get the other bits and bobs I needed and got my niece some sanctuary bits for her birthday and got £10 freebie Sanctuary Nourishing creams x 4, which will go in the Christmas stash.
And then went to Selfridges food hall and got lots of yummy Thai food for dinner - all paid for by my hubby as he just got paid for a job he's been working on - YAY. Not bad for an hour and a half. I promise I only do this about once a year which is not bad considering I work in the West End.
Jamtart - ouch - how's your elbow?
Oh, and I got my Virgin coupon yesterday too.
I will get back on track with my budget and being Thrifty next week!
Have a good day.0
