I have booked my sons football party and am trying to get some inspiration for party bags - I though of giving them all a football mug filled with sweets but cant find them cheap enough - so far he has invited 35 of the little angels!
Anyone any ideas would be greatly appreciated
How about bags like this for party bags... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20-Cellophane-Party-Cello-Bags-FOOTBALL-SOCCER_W0QQitemZ310122379961QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_Occasions_ET?hash=item310122379961&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
Or what about football paper cups filled with bits and wrapped in cellophane.
As for bits inside, choccie footballs sound good; pencils; whistles; stickers; sweets!
Home Bargains is fab for packs of lollies and sweets, great selection.
Good luck! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

then you can do mine
Scattyman, sorry for leaving you all alone, I was working and earning pennies ... was rushed off my little feet and ended up working behind the bar with no shoes on cause my feet were hurting so bad!
Right I am dissapearing ..... I have other threads to post in before hauling my back end to bed!!! .....

Sorry Rusty, my arms didn't have the strength to do any more ironing after 3 hours chained to my own iron
Had 3 orders of wedding stationery to make up last night, managed most of it but gave up at 2am cos I was soooo tired. Going to try and finish the rest tonight, well I say finish, can't finish completely cos the lovely lady I work for hasn't given me enough ribbon to finish one of the orders
DS1 comes back from my m&d's at lunchtime :T. Very excited about seeing him, have missed him but also enjoyed a bit of time away, god that sounds terrible doesn't it
Hope your son is ok bunbun and well enough to go back to school tomorrow! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Not in the slightest rainmac, I think every parent understands that enjoyment of having a break. Cant wait until my OH will let LO stay at my moms over night, LO is his first baby so he's very over protective, he's concerned she wont wake up to him, or LO wakes up & is upset as he's not in his normal cot. I know my mom would barely sleep with him there though, & we go round once a week so he definately knows the place. Ah well, we'll come to a compromise at somepoint.
Glad he hasnt done anything major bunbun, hopefully its just badly bruised & it'll heal in no time.
Think of all that electric & heating you've saved going to bed early mhagster, sure that will go towards paying for the meal.
Have just made & put in the oven duck spring rolls for lunch, never made them before so am looking forward to seeing how they taste. Spring rolls are my fav thing from the chinese takeaway. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
So sorry goochie, can you send a card to the family? sometimes just doing something helps you through it
I saw my friend today, dropped her present off after checking the Thrifty Gifty bookShe loved her handmade card too.
Next event for me is Poppa Tart's birthday and Mother's day, both of them are getting a Journal Jar, and I might make one for myself too
PLM & Sylphie - Liberty Cottage is back openhttp://libertycottage.blogspot.com/
Thanks Jamtart, I have written the family a letter sending my condolences and my memories of her, the only address I have is my friends, but am hoping that the family will be popping in to collect post etc.0 -
Hi all!
Had very little food in the house last night and ended up feeding my mum and dad as they stayed over as mum wasn't well enough to drive we had a wierd mixture of tortellini, tinned ravioli and tinned beans with veg sausage and noone could eat much as all feeling queasy still!! (I think it was prob the food myself!!) Managed to stay uo to just after 8ish then went to bed and slept through until DS came and said he'd wet the bed. Bless him he's been doing so well with this and has been dry over a month but I think the combination of jet lag and being unwell caused him problems.
Quiet Sunday morning lazing in bed until ma and pa left for home then my poor DS threw up everywhere again (luckily he hadn't had his brekkie so was only water) so he went back into my bed for a cuddle and fell asleep for a couple of hours! he has had some toast since and is feeling much better so hopefully he can go back to school tomorrow (and me back to work boo hoo!).
Washing machine has been on twice, I did a meal plan for the week and went to Sainsburys and stuck to the list! Sat and caught up on here as DH is cooking a roast for us (thanks Hubby!). really need to make some cards and sort through craft stuff etc etc but haven't done it yet!
Managed to watch about 5 hours of American Idol last night how sad am I?? Also got to catch up on CSI, ER, Grey's anatomy and Numbers all taped whilst we were away I can't wait all my favs!! Must set Tv to record desperate housewives and check when House, Ugly Betty and the new Bones are back on UK TV!!!
Have replied to Thrifty Gifty facebook group re dates for the NEC.
Have sent you aPM mum2one re train travel.
Hugs to all xxx
ps Jammy are you coming to Birmingham with us???0 -
Afternoon everyone! hope everyone is ok and doing well!
Currently sat doing nothing much, but should be doing loads! have to iron school uniforms and work uniform- had the week off and i'm so sad to be going back! Need to list more stuff on ebay, cos im determined to get my house empty of cr*p! and was meant to be finishing decorating my stairs and landing this week...ooops...
Oh well, dd has had a good week which i suppose is all that matters!
can i just say, rainmac, i am sooo jealous of your OH! I LOVE Ant and Dec!i'm so sad that i've never met them, but would probably do something completely embarrassing if i ever did! I'm that sad I even googled SMTV live the other day and watched some old clips on youtube- it reminded me of being a student and watching hangover tv!
Ordered some crafty stuff on wednesday, was hoping to have a play before i went back to work, but its not arrived yet. grrr! Has anybody made anything fun lately? got any plans for easter?
Really should get off here and go do some work! Or even just go have a nice relaxing bath...0 -

Thanks for info v quiet here! all the prep for the return to school post half term I guess!0 -
Some of us have been busy clearing their youngest daughters pigsty...sorry bedroom. She is such a clutterbug.......what a load of junk!! It's her birthday next week and will no doubt get loads more stuff!! I am going to do a car boot soon, did one before we moved house 2 years ago & made £230. Don't have that much stuff this time, although I'm going to try & sell dd2's clothes this time and I have quite a lot of costume jewelery that i sorted out today.
DD1's bedroom is a different level of untidiness .......I could scream at her but that would be a waste of my energy! But she does keep her door shut!
have wrapped 2 Christmas gifts tonight with the most beautiful paper and ribbons and 2 birthday gifts, one April and the other November.....now that's organised!!
Kids back to school tomorrow and work for me! woohoo!
Night for now........no, not quite bedtime but have too much to do!!0 -
I do three, butlins and virgin, which are both st minvers, and take a break. The 2 st minvers ones let you have 2 on a sunday as well which is v. nice of them! You have to deposit £10 of your own money, but as soon as you do one scratch card and have that extra 10p in your account you can withdraw your £10 back!there are more st minvers sites, but apparantly if you have to speak to customer services for anything, they realise what you are doing and cancel all of your accounts with them. But def worth it as its quite quick and easy and is free money!and its so much more interesting than the daily clicks!0
