OMG, is there anything they can do to get rid of some of the fluid so the migraines don't happen? Is there anything you can do to prevent them, what triggers them? Sorry too many questions
Thomas is starting to get cross cos I spent the last hour sorting out DVDs to sellGoing to get ready and go into town in a bit. Rusty, do you know of a good place to look for Winnie the Pooh baby stuff like blankets/towels?
Speak to you all later
They can put a shunt in ... not too sure what one of them is but it is supposed to help drain any excess off on its own without the need of a LP ... however because of my age they said they would rather not do that because there can be complications and also the shunts can move and dislodge which can be quite nasty/dangerous. I was booked in to have operations on both eyes, they wanted to slice open the optic nerve so that when the fluid builds up it's not putting as much pressure on the optic nerve which in turn isn't damaging my eyes ... however they helpfully sent me the date for the operation 3 days before my girly was due ... needless to say I had to cancel it because I had visions of going into labour and not only that I couldn't fit behind the steering wheel to drive to the other side of Brum! .... plus childcare for Tom was an issue, since then though I have moved and no one has bothered to sort out my notesThey gave me some tablets which were supposed to do something ... not sure what as they didn't work but left me with a taste of sucking pennys!!! Not sure what triggers them but they did tell me the first time I was too fat!! ... which they were right as I was very very big when I had Thomas.... have since lost loads of weight (5 dress sizes
) and now I seem to stay the size I am ...so who knows!
Well done on the DVD's sounds like a canny amount
As for WTP stuff ... I posted on the nappy cake thread earlier which you probably missed ....
Asda/tesco/matalan they all do a lovely range of pooh items asda do lovely pooh/tigger/piglet towels and I think they also do blankets they also do little sleepsuit outfits etc ... tesco do a lovely range of pooh clothes and towels, dont remember seeing blankets though? ... Matalan have lovely little outfits in and a lovely blanket although can't remember the price and only saw them in neutral but then I wasn't looking hard ,...
As for pooh teddies Sainsburys had some for about £3 yesterday in the clothes aisle with the toys at the bottommay be there is your local one?
If you have a disney store keep your eyes peeled as they always have teddies in there cheap ... normally always pooh ones ... we have picked up a few different ones the most expensive being £2.50 down from £10!
If there is anything else I can help with just shoutI will keep my eyes peeled for you

Goochie sending big hugs for you, it sounds like you need them xxx
Sylphraven sending big hugs for you aswell .... xxxxRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I was just catching up whilst eating my lunch. I was JUST going to type my migraine has gone for the moment and it just started above my eyebrow GEESH!!
Just wanted to give hugs to Goochie. Oh dearI don't even know where to begin. You have such a great outlook on life so I know you will deal with it perfectly yourself, in your own way but I am always here for you if you need a shoulder. When someone we knew dies there are always 'what ifs' but you need to remember her for the time you did have and not the times you won't. I guess this will always be a hard week for you now with your dad as well but every single year I will be there for you and you never have to feel sad xx
I have just ate the worlds biggest most ridiculous sandwich it was insane.:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Rusty.. You made me feel queasy with your optical slicing BLEURGH Excuse me a second whilst I try to make my eyes feel normal again ARGH It must be so hard for you to know what the pain is like and live in anticipation of the next time. I really feel for you x
Rainmac I read up on MS last night. The first thing that stayed in my mind and made me smile again was 'On average, people with MS live AS LONG as people without'. I was so sad to know someone as lovely and kind as you and then read you had MS.. sometimes life just doesn't seem fair. Then again, if there is anyone that could rise above the challenge it would be you.. and you did, in return gaining a husband and the most GORGEOUS kids. On your darkest days know you can moan here without feeling bad x:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Aurora Don't ever feel embarassed to talk about what you believe in and who you are. I don't have a god but I don't dismiss anyone elses either.. the world is too amazing and unexplained to tell someone their beliefs are ridiculous. I know you never mentioned a religion but I was just using it as an example
I love to hear about different ways of thinking, different points of view.. especially from someone who quite clearly has a good heart and beautiful karma x

Sylphy Was gonna PM you but balls to it. When I had my little one she never slept through the night, always woke for a drink. She was a nightmare since the day I had her. Our walls are paper thin and I didn't think it was fair that Logan should be woke in the night by her crying so I put her next to my bed so that I could catch her straight away. I was at my wits end one day, totally sleep deprived and miserable at not having a full nights sleep for two years when I met someone and they told me to put her in her own room. I had all of these feelings of anxiety inside me and I really didn't want to. I didn't want Logan to have a sleepless night, I didn't want her to wake and be alone etc. They told me that I wasn't doing her a favour by keeping her there because she had also had a year of not sleeping through and it was bad for her. That day, I put her to bed in Logans cotbed for her lunchtime nap and she was not impressed but I did the 'go in the room say bedtime firmly without eye contact, lay her down.. walk out' technique and within half an hour she was sleeping. I even took a pic of it I was crying with elation. That night I put her in her bedroom that had waited for her for a year. She slept through the whole night and has ever since. It was that easy. I swear. Make the step and give yourself your life back. You are one of the strongest people I know, you can do it xx
I was just going to post that picture of when my daughter slept but I remembered it is on my phone (of course DUH) so here is a pic of me so I can get the embarrassment over with for you all to meet me::xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Thanks hun, am feeling a bit better about it now.
That is a lovely photo, YOU look lovely, the way you've commented on your weight I honestly thought you were going to be twice the size you actually are. You have NOTHING to be embarrassed over, except for the fact we all know you like to turn kiddies into snowmen, lolYou cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -

Yep I'm back in th Uk finally!! I have unpacked and I'm trying desperately hard to stay up to try and overcome the jetlag thing!!
I am extra tired as Thurs night was up with DD vomiting, Friday night was up with DS vomiting and last night I was on an 8 hour flight sat between them, DD clutching a sick bag the whole flight and DS trying to cope with some diarrhoea!! I am so looking forward to a night in bed with no sick children (selfish I know!!) My poor mum has also been chucking up so we had a bad couple of last days and didn't get to the manatees.
I have looked in my diary and I prob could take the Friday off work and have friends coming here on Saturday night so need to check times etc etc with you all for the NEC will go on Facebook and leave a message sorry to clog this thread up again!!
How is everyone?? All this talk of LP's makes me come over all nursie and tell you to lie curled up in a ball and hold your hand while the dr does what he has to do (even tho the dr wants me to be his handmaiden I prefer to hang out with the patient!!). Hope you are all well at the mo (esp Rainmac and Rusty) and hope PLM recovers from her migraine eventually!!
Must get onto the blogs that I won my blog cnady on as haven't yet received anything and would be v sad if it was lost in the post!!!
