    Hello all :D

HUGE congratultions to everyone on the challenge results and HUGER (that's not a real word is it?) thank you to the lovely Jammy for organising it.

I really like the sound of the new challenge as I have several years of cookery magazines in my garage gathering dust and god knows how many crafty magazines (may have torn a few pages out of a few, have to check them ;)). I was only saying to my OH last week, shall we chuck all those mags out of the garage . He has an old but pristine collection of Spiderman comics from his youth. Do you think I could clamber into the loft and flog those without him knowing...?

I like this thread how it is too, I love all of you and you help keep me sane and organised in my ever crazy world :p

I got told at the Tesco checkout this morning that my card would not be accepted and needed authorisation. The supervisor came over and said in the LOUDEST possible voice that this was because I didn't have any money in my bank account  and that Tesco needed to phone my bank. She said in a disgusting and still very loud voice, 'well what do you want us to do, don't suppose you have the means to pay for your items any other way'? By this time I was blinking fuming  and said in my most restrained but sarcastic voice 'I advise you phone my bank as the till is telling you'. It was only a security check, took ages for the Tesco staff to sort this out and I will be writing a very long and very angry letter to Mr Tesco as I was horrified at how they treated me. They will also not see quite so much of my money in the future, blinking Tesco, pah

    Anyway, enough of that ;)

Rusty, of course your views matter and count. If you're not happy you need to tell your OH and talk about it, properly. Please don't be concerned and not let your concerns be heard. I reckon you need to know more about it and if between you, you decide he is going to do it then you need to move your bum down south a bit nearer me ;) Sounds like you got some fab crafty stuff :D

Skiergirl, I think all lovely people are welcome here (and then there's me of course) :D

DS2 got on lots better at playschool this morning, hooray :j

My mum has a 3 day break from the radiotherapy over the bank holiday and then back for 3 more blasts next week and then that should be it. Saw her today and she's bearing up brilliantly bless her (giving her family hell but we're just putting up with it...at the moment...;)). Am expecting her to collapse afterwards though.

I bought a copy of Crafts Beautiful this morning, I need to put a stop to buying these mags and start selling them ;). The latest copy comes with a booklet with patterns for crocheting toys. If you'd like it please send me a PM with your address and I'll pop it in the post. Also have a booklet of Paddington Bear decorated papers and tags to cut out, same again, if you'd like it please let me know x

Blimey, sorry my post is huge :o

Have a great weekend everyone :D

Rusty yoga or pilates might help with your sciatica. Or if it doesn't ease up, ask them to refer you to a physio. I'd take ibruprofen and paracetomal throughout the day, and if they don't help, ask for co-codamel. They're all I can take for mine and they don't even really make it go away, just take the edge off it. :)

As it stands at the minute Hayley I wouldn't be able to do pilates (I used to do it and enjoy it) but I just don't have the movement in my leg to do it now, I tend to only take tablets when I really need them although I probably should build them up inside my body for more accuracy?

Rainmac I am not sure how you manage to restrain yourself I would have given her such a mouthful!!!
Glad to hear the little one is settling in better at nursery :) soon you will have freedom for a couple of hours!

OH is still enquiring about the job .... it is very very good money which I think is swaying his decision. He is sitting down with dates and how much he would earn and when he would be home etc etc yet claims he hasn't thought about it :rotfl:

    We will see :)

Tonight I plan to do some crafting ... I am going to try and hunt down some sketch card challenges and see if I can follow them as some of them seem really easy and I am actually going to use some of my pretty papers!! rather that sit and stroke them :rotfl:

That's why I had to give up pilates, couldn't do most of the moves and that was at a class run by the physios! I'm hoping to start a Remedial Yoga class in the next few weeks, see how I get on with that.

I think they do say you should keep "topped up" - that's what my doctor always says to me anyway. When it's so bad I can't move I do take my tablets every 4 hours, I have to really but when it's not quite that bad, I just take them when I really have to because they make me feel very woozy and usually send me to sleep! :rotfl:

Looking forward to seeing what you make :D I need to get on with a cross stitch I am doing for my mum's birthday (13th May). I am about half way through but haven't done any work on it for over a week

Has anyone bought any bargains for Scrapbooking Day? Spill the beans ladies ;) I've recorded the 2 hour show on QVC to have a look at later.

Rainmac - like Rusty said, you did very well restraining yourself! I am terrible in shops, if somebody is rude or ignorant or anything I get on my high horse and tell them what for! :rotfl: You should definitely send a letter of complaint, did you manage to get her name? Tell them you are never shopping in Tesco's again, they might send you some vouchers ;)

    Sketches here and here

OH has had our card declined a couple of times but fortunately the last time I was in the car park at the Holiday Inn so I missed all the excitement as I was defrosting the car ;). That "person" was incredible - I've noticed that sadly the service is lacking in customer services in Tesco sometimes . We know you hadn't really emptied your bank account buying crafty stuff so your kids can't eat rainy - that would be choccy :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Indeedy - there's a lovely one on the creative card crew this week as well :D

I really like them coz that's the bit I really struggle with and they usually have several layers so you can use lots of bits

Thankyou for the links to the sketch challenges ;) gives me something to work for ...

We have a film to watch tonight and I printed off some stamps last night and coloured them in crayons :rotfl: I don't want the expense of expensive whisper thingys if I can't do stamps, not had a chance to get to poundland as they are both a fair distance and it is hassle parking etc so will promise to look next time I am in :D

I wish I had bought some cheap basic grey papers now when they were all cheap at the glitter pot! ho hum ... might have to look on ebay for some men ones ;)
