Yes, the sales office in my area is closed Tues and Wed. The negotiations were done with a part exchange bloke though.
Yes! My house is nearly up!

Not strictly true. My house was reserved the first week of January and they hadnt even had release for it let alone expected it to be up within 6 months. I got 30,000 off the asking price and ten grand more for my house part exchange than what they sold it for. They were due to complete end July/ Beg Aug but brought it forward to May much to my delight.

It's great that your roof is on! How often do you get to have a look? When did you pick your options? What are the costs like for their options?
Its good that you are so relaxed (but deep down excited and nervous and gagging to strike a deal so you put your stamp on your house)
Lets hope they realise the error of their ways and come back with a decent offer for you.
Since they havestarted seriously working on the build they have taken down some high fencing they had up (as the rest of the street is up and lived in they were being curteous) Now it is just barriers and I could go see it at any time but I just go every Friday (I feel silly enough going every Friday but the builders are dead nice and go through the next step for the following week so I know what they are up to) I do a piccie every week to show how it is developing. It is great to do. I am doing a progress report with the pic on my facebook as my friends and family lke to see whats occurring too.
The options are a bit of a sore point at the mo to be honest. They have in the last few weeks been in the process of changing what is on offer (colours, styles etc of kitchen cupboards, tiles etc, possibly just updating them I think) however, it has taken weeks and weeks and we are still unaware of what is on offer and how much they are so are completely oblivious as to how much things are going to cost and how much we need to save. We do have savings and extra on the mortgage but we still like to be "in the know". They now have the actual templates in the office but no written prices. I do keep thinking maybe they are doing us a "special" price list which is more than everyone elses due to us getting so much of the house  but who knows?
Options usually get chosen once the hous is up and some of the work has been done inside I think.

yup - various options have different times - they should let you know what has to be chosen and when it needs choosing by. Some of the options are ridiculous prices (I think the lighting and the kitchen upgrades were the worst). I did have a price list but threw it out a while ago - sorry.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

Thanks!
There are a few things i could buy myself if the prices are daft. Like, replacing the door handles with silver ones should be simple and cheaper for me to do. My dad is an electrician so can do the extra power sockets (unless they're reasonable to buy from GW to avoid the mess after the build is complete). Turf we can get from my husbands dad who is a green keeper, etc. etc. Light fittings we can buy and dad can fit... a fire and surround would probably be cheaper for us to buy ourselves... That kind of stuff we can save on.
Well, i'm hoping that i'll hear from them tomorrow. If not i'll just have to assume that they can't help us and wait until June.Sarah.

I was going to replace the doorhandles myself as well, I also looked into a deal for fire and flooring. As you're going to floor a whole house a carpet place will fall over themselves to do a deal.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

Im actually a bit gutted to hear that about the prices for kitchen appliances and lights being high.
We are taking our existing washer and dryer as I dont like these as one unit and mine are practically brand new anyway (plus they will be in utility room) I was only going to buy the dishwasher and fridge freezer and oven as two of these are intergrated. I was wanting downlighters for the kitchen/diner and bathrooms too. But sounds like they are going to cost a fortune. I dont see how we would be able to do the downlighting ourselves either even though we are able and willing it would be too awkward to get them to leave it all.
The options have changed as well in the way you can choose kitchen appliances ie you can choose either or (they used to do set packages and you had to had all of the appliances within that)
We are getting them to do the flooring in the utility, kitchen, dining room and downstairs toilet/ hallway as we want tiles all the way through all of them. Also the other three bathrooms. Carpets are getting done in all the other rooms by a friend of ours who own a carpet firm.
The rear grass is included in the deal. Anyone got any ball park figures on these things? Do you think I will need another mortgage?
We will be getting our own fire too as they are a piece of p**s to fit arent they?

I still think you'd get cheaper deals on tiling as that again was fairly expensive for flooring. They wouldn't let me not have the washing machine as I too wanted to take mine and put them in the garage but they said that was because the kitchen was ordered so maybe you'll be able to sort yours out.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0
