When I asked them if they would not install the washing m/c as I didn't need it they point blank refused so I think you will struggle to get them not to fit appliances.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

I had told them we were considering a part exchange, so they told me how the valuations system works for that and the figures they would give if they were doing a valuation for a part ex - A price to put the house on the market, a slightly lower price for it to sell within 6-8 weeks and then a "forced sale" price for it to sell really quickly and this last price was the price GW offered me to start with.Sarah.

Yes when went through the valuation for part exchange figures the EA told me they give the builder 3 prices but didnt go into detail about what was involved or what the prices would be. I got what I wanted for mine as a figure from the builder and it was actually above what I had been advised to put it on the open market for independantly.

They now do allow you to drop some of the appliances as they dont do the full packages any more. I have been into the office today and got some figures. They are still awaiting some of them though. They have advised me t go to York to a show home there as all the new options are fitted into those houses now and its the only one that has them. Think I will go have a look as it appears that it is cheaper to get the contemperary upgrade as you get all the appliances included in the price of that as well as the newer doors. You also get the 5 burner hob and the chimney and all the intergrated lights in the units too. The price seems quite good in comparison to getting odd things seperate. They even do integrated microwaves!!!!! What next?
The higher costs appear to be the downlighting which is charged per room and adds up to a lot. Im not impressed with those figures and may just get standard lighting and go big on the kitchen upgrade. I may well be sat on cardboard boxes as furniture but I will have a fantastic kitchen lol.
Feline it will more likely be Friday you get your figure from them. Tactic they use and then give you the rest of the day to decide with a view of getting you to reserve the plot by sunday. Hope you get what you want.

Sarah...that is what i thought may happen as they were closed yesterday and so the 2nd EA wouldnt have contacted the biulder till today. My 1st EA has told me what price she is putting for the bottom figure for a qiuck sale (even though she wasnt supposed to and didnt disclose the other 2 figures)..if they offer us that then i am still happy and can reserve....but it would be nice to be offered a couple of extra thousand...we will see.0

I still haven't heard from them. I am wondering if they will actually get back in touch or just leave it as they didn't like my offer. How long would you leave it before chasing them up? It would be courteous to call me, even if they can't help us at this time... They were closed Tuesday & Wednesday and the last i heard was Saturday.
NoDebtForMe: How much was the contemporary upgrade for the kitchen?Sarah.

Hi
I was always focusing on what price I could achieve for mine but try not to think about what they offer you but more what kind of a ratio you will have between yours and their house. In other words what you think you may "lose" on our house can be taken off the price of theirs when you negotiate. When you think in those terms it kinda takes the pressure off needing certain figures.0 -

I would leave it till next week before you contact them. I know it is hard but stay strong!
The price for the contemporary kitchen wasnt the "official" price as they havent got that in for my house type yet, but, she said ball park figure 4 grand which is the shiny type doors and all the appliances and lighting and a better carcase. Having got the prices of just the integrated fridge freezer and intergrated dishwasher it adds up to 800 quid so what you get in the contemporary range is goo value for money if she has guestimated it right.

wow thats an expensive kitchen upgrade.
Uropachild: I hope they come back to you but what they sound like they are doing is what they did with me i.e. I thought we were still negotiating but as fa as they were concerned they had made one offer and that was it. Have you been to see the CC development yet?Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0 -
Yikes! That is an expensive upgrade!! That's more what i would pay for an entire kitchen from scratch, never mind just an "upgrade"! Ha!
I'm pretty sure they intended to get back to me and the sales woman said she would, but i guess i should wait until next week. It's annoying though because i want to know where we stand before looking at the other developments.Sarah.
