hello
I'm really new to OS (normally on the comps board) but just starting to get into it. Wanted to say hi and thanks for all your tips already, I've been reading so many old threads and tips, and they've helped loads already. It's great not to be wasting the amount we used to!
I was also very pleased to find Delia's complete cookery course book in oxfam today. Love that book!
Thanks all and hope to speak to you all more soon
too many comps..not enough time!0 -
Just popping in to say hello,Happy Valentines Day to those who do,we don't but we did have some (small)fillet steaks and hm wedges, which was nice-the last of the steak from Costco. Can't see us getting any more of that for a good while, didnt get any last time we went as it seemed to have shot up in price.
I'm quite pleased with myself as I've been revamping a patchwork quilt I hand sewed in the 70s when we'd just got married. Its just been lying on a shelf doing nothing for years-apart from when i was still working at school and we had it on the display board to show how shapes fit together :rotfl: .At the time I obviously couldnt be bothered or couldnt afford any nice material to back it,and used a hideous green sheet,so I've taken that off, extended the sides with some pink strips taken from a valance I got from Dads when clearing the house, and all I need to do now is put the white back on tomorrow.I think it'll look great in the spare room.I also found some smaller patches in the same colours -unfinished so I might use those as an edge to 2 pillows,as theres enough pink left to make 2.
Right,I'll go and finish my G&T ( well I had a lime to use up)
Sybil,at least you got out with dh today and I'm presuming Lb went too.On the house subject our house has been on the market 9 months and we've had one viewer!I thought it was too dear when it went up for sale but the E.agent thought it was OK,we have just reduced it quite a lot-dont think its made any diff. though. We've resigned ourselves to staying put for a bit,and only viewed about 4 ourselves-youve done well to do 3 in a day.Take care.
Moggins-sorry youre having such a tough time.(((HUGS)))
Chickaroonee-Welcome.Once you start on some of the old threads you can't stop can you:rotfl: I've learned loads of tips-its brilliant here.

Has been an nice valentines day here, OH and I do not go overboard, in fact this is the first one that we have spent all day together....well nearly all day as we had DSD last night as her mum was out on the razz, after she went home we had a late breakfast and I gave OH his gift, was a cd that I know we will both enjoyMotown chartbusters vol 3, we both had the original many moons ago, got him some chocs and a couple of love bug scratchcards, he won a £1 so not all lost then :rotfl:he got me a rose with tigger awwwww. Did a nice meal of steak and chips tonight.
I am going to be a granny again, bit shocked as DD was told she would have trouble having babies, well she had one and it looks like it kicked her system into touch as she is pregnant again! awwwwww I can't wait, just wish I lived nearer.
Tomorrow I am doing a search of the freezer and then meal planning with what is there, need to save money to visit DD.
Hope everyone had a good day and cyas soon xxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine
