    Morning peeps

Happy Valentines day :smileyhea cold here this morning so i shall get well wrapped up when i go out with the monsters in a while. They are both hibernating at the moment :D
Yesterday afternoon we went out to Bakewell for a walk with them and i think we tired them out, when it came to their evening walk they didn`t want to stay out for very long but i think that in an hour or so they will be raring to go again. In a little shop i found some enamel plates which were very reasonably priced so i bought some after reading the plate pie thread and feeling inspired so this afternoon i shall be making sausage and onion plate pies which should slice up lovely once cold for Mr Sunnys lunchbox. I also bought two china mugs with funny sheep on them to go in Mum`s christmas hamper this year. She will love these. There are some lovely little shops in Bakewell.

This morning i`ve made and plated up 4 roast chicken dinners so that Mr Sunny can come home from work and just shove one into the microwave, this will be very time saving for me as i`ve got a lot on this week with an unusual work pattern and lots of little jobs to do. Later i plan on making the cabbage gallete recipe, i see that you have made this Apple_mint - as i read it the bacon, eggs etc is actually mixed into the pastry, is this right? or is it just me mis-reading? i`d appreciate it if anyone who has tried it can let me know please.

Well the dw is on atm but during the expensive electricity time and i still have lots of pots to wash so i`ve put the water on for a while, the amount of cooking today will mean lots more washing up so it will be far more economical than boiling the kettle lots of times. Later i hope to do a new freezer inventory as i`ve used quite a bit from there in the last couple of weeks, i shall re organise the shelves too. I`ve part sorted out the fridge and later i shall wash all the shelves too then thats another job that i don`t really like doing out of the way.:D

Redruby - there will be a pm winging it`s way to you shortly :D

I shall drag myself off the sofa now and make myself useful :D

    Have a lovely day everyone.

Noahspennilessmum - What on earth is chilli vodka pasta??? I just read that three times and I'm atill not sure I read it right!!

Taplady - sorry to hear about the cold *hug*

W*rk is insanely quiet today, think it probably will be - it tends to be quiet when it's a big day for sport.

    And apparently there won't be a frost tonight:j :j :j

Valentines Day celebrated in the usual manner here  Never mind, I'm loved and cared for the rest of the time, which is more important to me. I'd have had stern words if he'd been extravagant any way!

According to the radio 57% of women would rather their loved one cooked them a nice romantic meal at home. I turned to DH and rather cynically noted that the other 43% wouldn't want their kitchens messing up!

Hey hoe! Have done an hour with the SAD lamp this morning in order to maintain last week's efforts with the sunshine, was lovely here yesterday, but overcast and spitting here. Such a shame, as chap next door is getting married again. He lost his wife abotu 8 years ago, very happy for him. Rather weird, wife-to-be has the same name!

I'm just going to plod along with whatever needs to be done in the house today. DH and DS going to concert tonight so I will have some quiet time, will probably do some sewing I think.

Food? DOn't know, but stacks in so will go freezer diving in a bit. ONly need to get fruit tomorrow and maybe milk.

    have a great day everyone.

    Morning all! :hello:

Happy Valentines to all! I know it's an American thing to give valentines to friends but I just wanted you all to know that :iloveyou:

Welcome back Aussie, glad you had a nice time!

Sunnygirl, my OH had the exact same experience with his Mum. She kicked him and his brother out when he was 15 because she had a new boyfriend who didn't want her kids around  He was literally homeless. I got him to patch things up with her (it would be mean to say I regret it, but I often do) and she has now rewritten history and swans around like she's the Mother Theresa of parenting . I feel so bad for DD's BF but in the long run he doesn't need people like her in his life.

I had been planning to spend the morning in bed with my Valentine :p but my friend called at half eight, upset because of her hubby. She's been really sick the last few days - I think she may have caught the bug Dave and I had last week - and hadn't got a Valentine's card sorted out. Hubby called from work and she told him she didn't think she could make it down the shops on foot (he took her car because hers is a company car and the fuel is paid for). He asked what she needed from the shops and she said 'your valentine's card' and he went all quiet and funny with her then hung up on her. It really annoys me that some people are more interested in a stupid bit of cardboard than in the actual love that is supposed to be the sentiment behind it. A bit of a pi**-take to be honest when he didn't even get up to look after her when she was throwing up all night. Anyway, we've said we'll go pick her up and take her to the shops a little later if she's up to it.

Anyway, I don't want to end up on a rant. Have a good day everyone xxx
