Nope- they are dearer re parts. And as for the 5-7 year warranty........ lets be realistic here... :rolleyes:No more expensive than most Jap or German parts, of course with a Hyundai or Kia, it seems that you are less likely to need them in most cases, with a 5 or even 7 year warranty.;)Genie

Aw schucks......... you're jealous! But Hintza does come across as being cute...goldspanners wrote: »excuse me, is my kilt not good enough for you these days? going after another scotsman?
Mazda???
Fancy a laugh? One of our customers bought Mazda 5 a year ago, rang them for quote for a first service (all that needs changing on this is the oil filter - I checked). Mazda dealership wanted OVER £300!!!! We couldn't go over a hundred for this - and that was quoting genuine part, as in oil filter...... they are booked in with us. (And we will do it properly too!)
And they wonder why the dealerships are struggling..
Edit: Just read your post again Goldie - is Hintza a Scots too?? Maybe he has more under his kilt than you.........................Genie

I was being realistic, a well documented warranty that covers things like the exhaust system for up to 5 years is good enough for me.
The only possible downside could be the collapse of the company/companies.
Far more likely that Ford/GM/Chrysler will go to the wall first.
Hyundai do very well in the reliability stakes as well.
Excellent all round value for money.

I sure as hell wouldn't! Regardless of the so called lengthy warranty that they allegedly guarantee. What about their servicing costs and restrictions!! Nope, I don't like to feel trapped and ripped off thanks very much!!Genie

There's nothing "so called" about it, it is the longest car warranty available in the UK at this time.....
As for servicing costs... i'm sure they are no more expensive than the rest of the rip off main dealerships. Then again of course, you can shop around and get the servicing done anywhere (as long as VAT registered and using genuine parts) = not trapped and only ripped off if you are stupid enough to pay expensive servicing costs....
You seem to have a real downer on Kia and Hyaundai.... do you have a hidden agenda?0 -

None at all - I work for an independent garage that specialises in Toyota & Lexus. But we do service all makes. I'm forever shocked and disgusted at the prices for some makes - above included.
Parts wise, VW, Vauxhall, Fords seem to be the cheapest. A genuine Kia cam belt was over £90 - double that of a Lexus - work that one out. Just the belt mind, not a kit!! Stupid prices........Genie

Yes, I do in fact own one, amongst other cars, it has so far been 100% reliable, their guarantee is no different to other manufacturers, only it is longer.
I don't use Main Dealers for servicing, costs at my local independant have so far been minimal.
Number 6 world wide for reliability, no brainer really.;)0
